bobbob1313
I know this is an excercise that we do like 10 times a year, but in the past few days I've been listening to alot of Jeff Buckley, and I've been considering his place amongsts music's great singers. I've decided he falls somewhere after Freddie Mercury and Roger Daltrey (circa 1970), but before Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Bono. So: 1. Freddie Mercury2. Roger Daltrey (Who's Next)3. Jeff Buckley4. McCartney5. Lennon6. Bono (In the 80's, before he tried to be ironic, and before he tried to be the messiah)7. David Bowie8. Joe Strummer9. Bruce Springsteen10. Johnny Cash

Littlebear
"rock singer" is the most insane concept, unless you mention Lou Reed, Iggy Stooge, Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Janis Joplin and Slim Cessna.

Lammycat
Top of the head: Lowell George, Perry Farrell, Chris Cornell, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Bob Mould, Axl Rose. But really, a very subjective selection for anyone, right? Some people can't stand Axl's screech, for example, but I dig it.
