Whitty
Just sayin' hello to the Wilco kids. I'm Ben. I'm from the scenic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I know things. I have a band. I play bass. I fish for bass. I root for the Baltimore Orioles for some reason. I'm a mod on another fine message board. Music is my savior. Cheers!

caliber66
Another Ben, and I used to live in Charlottesville, so I have you trumped, Nonlinear. Plus, I was in attendance at the game that ended Cal Ripken's consecutive games streak. Welcome to the board.

viatroy
My maternal greatgrandfather was Ben. He was a tailor. I play no musical instruments. I've never been fishing (true). Yanks v. Orioles at Camden Yards in July is on my agenda. I've spent enough time in the Shenandoah Valley to make it worthy of mention. I do some things in moderation. I know things. AGIB does not suck at all. Im leaving the rat race in 7.5 weeks.
j4lackey
My son has a friend named Ben who, when he sleeps over and I tell them to shut up and go to sleep at 3 in the morning, sez "Me and my dad always stay up till 6 in the morning playing video games". I still don't buy it. Hi, though.
wheelco
I'm from the scenic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.I'm not Ben nor is anyone I know, but I have been around your parts so many times it's almost as if we have lived parallel lives
cryptique
In third grade I beat up a kid named Ben. If that was you, sorry. Hope you've learned to take a punch since then.

gogo
My son has a friend named Ben who, when he sleeps over and I tell them to shut up and go to sleep at 3 in the morning, sez "Me and my dad always stay up till 6 in the morning playing video games". I still don't buy it. My great-grandfather, on my father's mother's side, was named Ben. He came here from Ireland with his cousin, and they were going to be sheep farmers in Idaho, but it was too cold. So his cousin moved to Oregon, and great-grandpa Ben came here to San Francisco. There are a bunch of distant cousins in Oregon that I've never met. Also, a kid named Ben that my nieces have known since preschool has (and has had since at least preschool) a gender-identity thing, and now he's in the fifth grade and he wears his hair long and is pretty much just one of the girls. He's a very cool kid, and his family are some of my favorite people among the kids' school friends. Welcome to VC!
jenbobblehead
there are no bens in my family however i am married to one, so i guess that counts, and it is a ben from here, so frankly i think i gotchoo all beat.
Whitty
My grandfather's name was Ben! Welcome. So was mine. Thank ye. I once knew a guy named Ben who would "dance" like a gorilla when he got angry. I occasionally knuckle-walk and eat leaves, but gorilla-like dancing is not in my repertoire. I have no relatives named Ben but I loved "Gentle Ben" as a kid! Welcome That bear mauled Lassie. True story. My maternal greatgrandfather was Ben. He was a tailor. I lack sartorial skills. I play no musical instruments. You should learn. Just beware of joining a band. It's like having three more significant others to deal with. I've never been fishing (true). Standing in knee-deep water on a summer Sunday morning with just the pulse of the reel keeping time and no one else in sight is as close to church as I get. Yanks v. Orioles at Camden Yards in July is on my agenda. I've spent enough time in the Shenandoah Valley to make it worthy of mention. 'Tis a fine enough place. Pretty to look at, a little lacking in culture at times, but the suburbs are creeping in. "Some good points, some bad points" as Mr. Byrne might say. I'm not Ben nor is anyone I know, but I have been around your parts so many times it's almost as if we have lived parallel lives Well in that case, how about chipping in some gas money every now and then? In third grade I beat up a kid named Ben. If that was you, sorry. Hope you've learned to take a punch since then. Wasn't me. I fight dirty. I'm half-Cockney. Thanks for the welcome, everyone! mountain bed
One of my daughter's oldest & best friends is named Ben. He is a young man with a staggering amount of intelligence & imagination. Plus, he thinks Frank Zappa is a God. For those reasons, I always hoped they would be dating by now...but she tells me that they don't like each other 'in that way'. Enough of that though...welcome man!

Lammycat
My name is not Ben, nor are my kids named Ben. However, Ben Vereen is a somewhat decent actor. In some people's eyes. You know what I mean, Ben? I lived in the Roanoke Valley for 8 years. Nice part of the country, eh Ben?
