HighFives
Dirty isn't perfect, but solid. I looooooooove EVOL though (right up there with Sister, IMO), but I've had that debate with a lot of people so I know I'm in a minority on that one. I almost did Daydream Nation thru Washing Machine, but Experimental Jet Set is just a little too crappy for that. Ha Expirimental Jet Set and Evol are my two favourites just under 1000 leaves. Orkie
A simple "I haven't heard most of those albums" would have done just fine. A simple "these are the only albums I own, here they are as the best five consecutive of all time" would have been even more eloquent.
Duck-Billed Catechist
I was going to mention Sonic Youth, but I think EVOL and Dirty are a little uneven. Orkie = essox500, Y/N?Science fact. 100% verified. I don't think he was ever banned so you wonder why the transformation.
mountain bed
well, it's been 15 years since I listened to the Moody Blues, but I seem to recall that in 1967 they began this streak of 6 (not 5): Days of Future PassedIn Search of the Lost ChordTo Our Children's Children's ChildrenOn the Threshhold of a DreamA Question of BalanceEvery Good Boy Deserves Favour could have them out of order ...that stuff was so important to me as a ute. Atticus
R.E.M.: Chronic TownMurmurReckoningFables of the ReconstructionLifes Rich PageantDocument just curious, but would you really consider Fables of the Reconstruction a great album, as a whole?
Saint Genevieve
just curious, but would you really consider Fables of the Reconstruction a great album, as a whole? I would, but there's some nostalgia at work there.
Oil Can Boyd
I would, but there's some nostalgia at work there.I was going to give the exact same answer.More than any other REM album it reminds me of a very specific time and place.
cryptique
just curious, but would you really consider Fables of the Reconstruction a great album, as a whole? It's probably my second favorite of theirs. Yes, it's a great album, in my opinion. OK, maybe third favorite...
Atticus
There are definitely some gems on there, it just doesn't grab me from start to finish the way life's rich pageant, murmur and reckoning do.
Rusty Shackleford
Fables is uneven, but its high points are so good that I would consider it a great album. In addition to classics like Driver 8 and Maps and Legends, it has some lesser-played gems that I've always loved, like Good Advices, Wendell Gee, and Kohoutek. Atticus
Can you think of any other artist or band who has put out 5 studio albums back to back more (or as) thoroughly enjoyable than/as Wilco's Being There, Summerteeth, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, A Ghost Is Born and Sky Blue Sky? so basically the answer is "no" then...
