theashtraysays
"... a bicentennial-era Don Henley" ? not sure I get that. I guess it could be worse.
bjorn_skurj
That is Example A. of a reviewer who really does not know what the hell he or she is talking about.
Willkoman
Entertainment Weekly Review: Jeff Tweedy has had a lot on his shoulders lately: addiction, rehab, and the lofty expectations that come with each Wilco album. It's no surprise then that he and the band have gone back to basics on Sky Blue Sky, ditching the sonic tinsel of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and the minimalism of A Ghost Is Born for the haunting beauty of a slide guitar. His voice is the star, though. In ''Either Way'' and ''Impossible Germany,'' he sounds like a bicentennial-era Don Henley
Drazil
That's so wrong on so many levels.
Drazil
It's going to take two drinks to get past that crap.
bourbonbreath
Yeah... when i first heard the 'Impossible Germany' guitar solo last summer i immediately thought of Joe Walsh and the similarity of the sounds between Wilco and the freakin Eagles.
yankhotelfox
Better a comparison to Henley than to Joe Walsh. That dude's one crazy mother. "I go to parties sometimes until four. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door." Very deep stuff.

WaronWar
The Eagles suck! And SBS rocks! That person should never write about rock and roll ever ever ever ever ever again.

Atticus
Very much a "heat is on" album. (You know, solo eagletts)
thejokeexplained
You guys are bitching about an A- review? All we need is some Eagle's fans to read that review and start attending live Wilco shows. Once that happens we will have to start paying triple digits for tickets for shows with set list of the imagination of a clear channel executive.
bedbug
17 posts and no obligatory Big Lebowski references. Shame! Man, I hate the f*cking Eagles
uncle wilco
All we need is some Eagle's fans to read that review and start attending live Wilco shows. Once that happens we will have to start paying triple digits for tickets for shows with set list of the imagination of a clear channel executive. the eagles pre-hotel california did not suck. bernie leadon kept them in line. once he left, we all know the story...henley and frey's ego's exploded...yada yada yada...you want classic 70's country-rock? listen to the first few albums. you want crap?, enter joe walsh and timothy b. schmidt. quit bagging on their entire catalog. your snobbiness is showing. just my opinion. ...and sky blue sky sounds nothing like the eagles. i have no clue why that comparison is being made. bobbob1313
I always thought "I'm Lonely, But I Ain't That Lonely Yet" by the White Stripes was the best Eagles song they never made.
