bjorn_skurj
it's kind of a gray area for me, but i'm ok with abortion for rape victims. abortion on demand is what i find really objectionable. in any case, it's not the federal government's business.Good. Then it should not move to make it illegal.
Central Scrutinizer
This is an e-mail I received from the Duval County Supervisor of Elections (Jacksonville, FL): Supervisor of Elections Advises Voters of Mailing On Thursday, September 4, 2008 the Duval County Supervisor of Elections Office received a number of calls from voters inquiring about a mailing entitled "Voter Registration Tracking Form" along with a "Party Affiliation Voter Registration Card" sent by the Republican National Committee. Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland would like to advise voters who received this mailing it is not a product being distributed by the Duval County Supervisor of Elections Office. "The mailing may be confusing to some voters since the voter's party may be listed incorrectly." said Holland. "I want to assure voters the mailing is not a reflection of any changes that have been made to any voter records. We cannot change a voter's party affiliation without a voter completing a voter registration application that includes the voter's signature and submitting it to our office. Voters may visit our website, www.duvalelections.com or call our office at 630-1414 to check their party affiliation." stated Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland.
kwall
. . . Oh and keep preaching the gospel too . . .i don't preach the gospel. Good. Then it should not move to make it illegal.agreed. likewise, it should not have moved to make it legal, least of all from the judicial branch.

kwall
Oh, and by the way, there are millions of children out there with dick head dads that don't pay a dime, or "deal with the consequences."i know. i don't defend the dick heads. Also, check out state run foster care and group homes, orphanges etc. Nice job our government does with unwanted children.i prefer it to killing them.

Party @ the Moontower
i know. i don't defend the dick heads. i prefer it to killing them. Don't assume I mean that Kwall. That's BS and you know it. Imagine a world if every unwanted child is born.
bjorn_skurj
agreed. likewise, it should not have moved to make it legal, least of all from the judicial branch.Nope. If the federal government has no business in something, that thing should not be restricted by the federal government. Leaving it to states is as far as I will go, but reluctantly. Slavery was once left to the states, and that did not work out so well. Like the right to not be a slave, reproductive rights, in my view, are basic human rights which no government should hinder or take away.
fatheadfred
Biden did a good job on MTP on Sunday. He is Catholic. His personal/religious belief is that abortion should not happen. However, he understands that not everyone holds this view, we are in a secular society. You do have a choice. You have to choice to keep your child or abort. Both sides can choose. Why change the law so only one side is choosing? Later I discussed this with a Lutheran coworker. He stated it isn't the policy the candidates seek to change or maintain, it is their belief. He is voting Rep. regardless of whether the issue goes anywhere in a McPalin presidency.
fatheadfred
Anyone seen O'Reilly get almost 'this fuckin thing sucks' mad at Jon Stewart. He started clinching his teeth and everything. Good Old Neon
nobody wants to revoke your right to reproduce. some us think, however, that once you have done so, you should have to deal with the consequences. That is such an arrogant, insensitive, punitive position to take and it completely ignores the life altering, in some cases, if we are to be honest, outright negative changes an unwanted pregnancy and the resulting child can have on a person or persons life, up to and including the child

LouieB
Sadly none of this matters. Those who think Sarah Palin is just what this country needs is a far larger group than most of us can imagine. LouieB

Those who think Sarah Palin is just what this country needs is a far larger group than most of us can imagine. LouieB I find that hard to believe. I don't know any of those wingnuts (except the few here). Of course no one I know ever admitted to voting for Reagan or Bush either.
kwall
Nope. If the federal government has no business in something, that thing should not be restricted by the federal government. Leaving it to states is as far as I will go, but reluctantly.that's the constitutional way to address it. Slavery was once left to the states, and that did not work out so well.yes, and a constitutional amendment was enacted to abolish it. Like the right to not be a slave, reproductive rights, in my view, are basic human rights which no government should hinder or take away.that's fine. that's your view. i would argue that you should support having your view either written into an amendment or left up to the state legislatures.
