(sorry bobbob) My friend told me today that 15,000 republican absentee ballots in broward (where I live) were never sent out. Been in a car all day so I haven't verified. Duck-Billed Catechist
What does "never sent out" mean? Never sent to those who requested them or never returned by the voters?
kidsmoke
Oh, now that is just damn heartbreaking. He must be so thankful he went to see her when he did, but still, so sad for the family. My sentiments exactly. What a tumble of emotions Barack must be feeling right now.

radiokills
all I can say is if McCain does win, I hope we know by dinnertime. I can't take another day of this election. Fucking 18 months is way more than enough. i'm sure this has been brought up before, but why are so many people saying they're so glad its over? its been one of the most exciting/interesting/groundbreaking political seasons in history.. Atticus
I said I wouldn't post anymore in political threads but I wanted to say how great it is to be part of a board that is so actively political and voting, regardless of candidate affiliation the folks who hang around here have wilco in common, but it seems like time and time again they also impress me in so many other aspects of their lives. I'll be quiet now.

Party @ the Moontower
I took a much needed break from politics other than seeing Obama twice in MO last week. If I could I would do it all over again, even reading thousands of posts in all the VC election threads. I have really enjoyed everyone's thoughts and pictures concerning this election. Thanks guys(even U republicans ). Can't wait to do it again! I can't wait to type in the words "President Obama" and have it be for real!
solace
18 months of constant negativity and attacks will do that. while I agree there's been a ton of negativity in this race, the positivity (well at least following Obama the last 18 months) has been inspiring to me and far outweighs any of the negativity... but them again i'm a pretty outgoing/positive person who hates to dwell on negatives. M. (hristine
Since we're at the end of this long road now I just want to say a couple of things: 1) I've really enjoyed these threads over the past 6 months. A LOT of good info has been passed around, and some well thought-out opinions have been voiced from all sides. Well done, folks. 2) For the most part civility has been the order of the day. I wasn't here in Fall '04 so I expected the worst. On some other boards it has been VERY ugly, so I'm glad VC has generally stayed above the fray. It gives one some hope - something that was declared dead in November '04. All the best to you all. ^ This. These past months on the VC round table have been so interesting and I have actually learned some stuff. Thanks everyone! I'm still predicting Missouri will be Obama's at the end of the day. I'm voting early.
viatroy
100,000 people turned out for Obama in Manassas tonight. I am so proud of what we're going to do tomorrow. I may even revive the tradition of giving my dad flags flown over the Capitol.
