lizish
these girls were pretty mediocre in concert, but the disc is not too bad. My luck has it that this is usually reversed.

Oil Can Boyd
yeah, i didn't love them as much either, but i'm hoping that partially stems from knowing all the words and such to the album songs. i won't worry too much until they're recorded glad you loved it!OK - this will be my last comment about that great Dawes show: I just read in the paper that Kirsten Dunst was at the show I saw (as she is dating Jason Boesel, who is opening). I can't believe I didn't see her because the place was tiny.
lizish
think I've now bought like 8 tickets their local show. not scalping or anything, just that the family and some of the kids friends are all going. so the theme of the last one was breakup/lost love/body parts and this one is all about alcohol/loneliness? Federico
I had never heard of this band and bought the album on an impluse. I can't take it out of the cd player. It sounds like a lost Sticky Fingers-era Stones album.

brianjeremy
I love that album. It's still my favorite Phoenix album. NP: It took me for freaking ever, but I finally found this CD. The last Mountain Goats album needed for my collection.
uncle tupelo
had read some non-flattering things about this one prior to listening to it...not sure why other than that it is rather different than previous efforts ...me?...I like it.
