LaughingDog
Oh geez, you know what ruined my night? I think these are being finished in Blue Mist... not Pelham Blue. Who is the idiot that made that decision? )))): Gibson is always letting everyone down, it seems. I e-mailed American Musical to confirm that it is indeed blue mist and not pelham blue. This is such a deal breaker for me ))):
jff
$1699 is not a bad price considering they charge that for a basic Les Paul.
anthony
I wish they had done it more like JT's actural SG: black pickguard, pelham blue, etc.
JAK2112
I actually think the white pickguard is beautiful
Moss
Yeah, no matter what it's a beautiful guitar. I wonder if Jeff had a hand in the design? Maybe he picked the white pickguard and the color?
yellowmarmot
Not that it matters one bit, but I'm pretty certain I've seen Jeff play one with a white pickguard as well, at the show in Snowmass last year.
LaughingDog
Did you guys check out the Live on Letterman performance? Because he used this guitar for Art of Almost. Blew my mind.

Scott Gyrrr
Or this colour would be cool Wilco Bike maker Todd Simeone;Color was my main contribution, and when thinking about Wilco and their music, I could not picture anything but “dust blue” (which also happened to be a 1950's Ford truck color). calvino
That is a sweet looking guitar.
jff
If I saw that and the black pickguard version next to each other in a store, I'd gravitate towards this new one. That thing looks really sharp.

choo-choo-charlie
Well, now it's officially out there: http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/SG/Gibson-USA/Jeff-Tweedy-Signature-SG.aspx.
GtrPlyr
Would love to try one out, not sure if any of my local stores are gonna bring this one in though. Hope this one doesn't have tuning issues, I've found SGs to be pretty bad with that generally.
calvino
I have tuning issues with my Les Paul (just a Studio) - perhaps it's a Gibson thing in general.I would love to play the SG. I am sure one of the stores in Chicago will get one in. I haven't been to a music store in quite a while, actually the last one was Rock N Roll Vintage Inc. up on the northside (in Chicago.) I think they filmed some of IATTBYH there. Beautiful store.
Atticus
FYI, these are now in stock on Amazon. I had been waiting since September for one on another site but canceled that and bought one on Amazon.

calvino
Do most signature guitars have the name (Tweedy, for instance) on the headstock - it seems a bit cheesy? It is a great looking guitar.I just think I would want any signature/name on the back.
Bosco
Very nice The name is on the Truss Rod Cover, those can easliy be replaced, just remember to save the original.
calvino
Very nice The name is on the Truss Rod Cover, those can easliy be replaced, just remember to save the original. Good point.
julien_etc
I agree (for the name on the back)... BUT without the tweedy, it's just a simple Gibson SG.
Ghost of Electricity
so tell us about her. how does she play? how does she sound? what about that trem unit? I'm not crazy about the blue either, but neither would i refuse one if it fell outta the sky.
