Sir Stewart
Ugh. I have absolutely no interest in seeing any of these remaining teams win. OK, see ya next year!

Lammycat
OK, see ya next year! Heh. Looking forward to the ALCS....
Winston Legthigh
Verlander pitched a gem last night. Fun to watch.
The High Heat
The A's should acquire Pablo Sandoval if they're going to continue facing the Tigers in the postseason.
Shakespeare In The Alley
man, i was pulling for the tigers (and totally though boston was toast going into detroit down 2-0) but that grand slam was something else hell of a picture too
calvino
That is a great shot - I went to bed at the end of the 7th. Surprised as hell, this a.m. Great effort by Hunter.
tinnitus photography
That is a great shot - I went to bed at the end of the 7th. Surprised as hell, this a.m. Great effort by Hunter. sad to say that I did too...i think i read something to the effect that up to that point, Red Sox hitters were 3 for 50 w/ ~30 Ks. yeah, it didn't look good. parisisstale
Tigers pen is always shaky & Sox been clutch late all year. I despise the Sox but never ever count them out. I did find it comical that Gillette was half-empty when Sir Tom performed his late magic yesterday, though I suppose a good many didn't want to miss first pitch.
tinnitus photography
I saw some chunks of open seats but half full is definitely hyperbole.
parisisstale
Total hyperbole but my spies were shocked by how many left after the failed 4th down. Over 2 minutes left with TO's & only down 1, you'd have to drag me outta there.
Oil Can Boyd
Weird trivia related to Ortiz's grand slam: the four runs were charged to four different pitchers.
Sir Stewart
That's great. I love baseball.
The High Heat
The White Sox are about to drop $68MM over six years on 26 year old Cuban 1B Jose Dariel Abreu, who at best compares to the right-handed version of Ryan Howard from three years ago. A lot of scouts have doubts about him, but the Sox don't have to sacrifice their 3rd overall pick in the draft to sign a guy they think is a middle of the order bat. I think he'll be more Viciedo than Cespedes.
Winston Legthigh
Leyland is supposedly having a press conference this morning to announce that he's stepping down.
Sir Stewart
I wonder if he'll cry.
Winston Legthigh
he cries a lot.and smokes.
Sir Stewart
Did you see him smoking in the dugout during the delay when the lights were out? That was pretty cool.

Lammycat
Did you see him smoking in the dugout during the delay when the lights were out? That was pretty cool.I remember seeing him do that a lot when he managed the Rockies. I liked him as a manager out here.
Oil Can Boyd
Seeing him smoke was great, as was seeing players smoke.
parisisstale
When's Prince Fielder stepping down? Brutal performance. Can't believe Leyland didn't swap Victor & Prince in the lineup at some point. I'd also be sick if i was a Tigers fan that Scherzer couldn't give you more than 110 pitches in the biggest game of his life. You just knew their bullpen would blow it. No way Verlander's coming out of that game.
Winston Legthigh
Fielder sucked, for certain, but Scherzer getting yanked wasn't a bad decision. He had just walked a guy who he had 1-2.
parisisstale
I'm going down with my best in October, plain & simple. Verlander could have walked the bases loaded there & still would have been given the chance to get out of it. I'm not surprised he got yanked because he's been a 7 inning pitcher for his career but I'd take 75% Max over 100% of any Tigers reliever.
