Cam Jones
There's a weekly one off cover band battle here in Portland (ME) called Clash of the Titans. I just got picked to be the team captain for Wilco and we're going up against the Shins (weird). How it works is the Wilco team plays a song then the Shins side plays a tune and we got back and forth for 6 tunes, then the audience votes by round of applause, someone wins bragging right, and then each band plays an "encore" Anyways. My head is SPINNING with what songs to do. What is your dream 7 song set? I plan on doing a song segue into another for the encore. But what do you all think!
Mr. Heartbreak
If it's going to be the general public, I would go with tunes that rock but are fairly simple and easy to get into on the first listen. choo-choo-charlie
I'd go with the tightly constructed pop-rock songs. Not necessarily a dream set but tunes that are generally catchy. Guest Jules
You should just play the same song 7 times. That should be sufficient.

Atticus
Rather than list my dream set, I'm listing what I'd play if I were playing in the format you described (and I had a group with 2 guitars and a keys player): I'm Always In LoveTheologiansOutta Site (Outta Mind)Hate It HereToo Far Apart (or I Must Be High)I'm A Wheel (or Standing O) Encore: At Least That's What You Said (if I won, I would have the adrenaline to attack the solo; If I lost, I would have the adrenaline to attack the solo)

Yaz Rock
The idea of alternating songs with another band kinda kills the sequencing of what songs would be in a "dream set" but since your request didn't state to specifically follow this venue's format, I am gonna go with what'd be cool to hear Wilco do on stage seven songs in a row. smells like flowers
The first 7 songs on AGiB. Respectfully request to switch out Wishful Thinking with Company in My Back! And change the order to end with Muzzle. 7 song set with encore. Please. One Sunday Morning ->Poor Places ->Art of Almost ->Via Chicago ->How to Fight Loneliness ->Not For the Seasons ->Late Greats encore:Casino Queen ->Outtasite ->Hoodoo Voodoo I'd walk out smiling after that.Either of these and I would happily expire of Wilco bliss. anthony
. Respectfully request to switch out Wishful Thinking with Company in My Back! And change the order to end with Muzzle. I, too, prefer Company over WT; however, I think it would be awesome to see them played in track order. Not sure why, just one of those things I guess. For encore, we would need Less Than You Think (full drone!)
