calvino
On Saturday night I met an angry Bernie supporter who is going to vote for the cheeto. I tried to talk sense into him but it didn't take. Sad! What was the person's rationale?
NoJ
"Can you imagine how great it would be if there was a COMPLETE outsider as President?!" My response was "Sure but that man is not fit for the job. I'd be afraid for my children's lives if he was President" and so on.....
KevinG
"Can you imagine how great it would be if there was a COMPLETE outsider as President?!" Hey that is the same thing I look for in my Doctor, airline pilot, financial adviser, and so on. I mean why would you want someone with experience and training for a job that can impact your life? Winston Legthigh
I don't understand the appeal of an outsider. If all these people are sick of career/lifer politicians, then vote out the Reps and Senators in your own district. I watched parts of the Mark Cuban appearance on the Late Show w/ Colbert. One thing he said which I hadn't noted before is: Where are all of Trump's business partners? None of them are coming forward to extoll his virtues, and that should be very telling. John Smith
Five Thirty Eight is predicting a Trump victory...if the election were held today. Re Trump business partners, I know a guy who is friends with Trump, as much as you can be friends in those circles. Any how he's been to Trumps place in Florida for dinner etc... And he will not vote for Trump under any circumstances. He was s Bush guy then shifted to Rubio once Bush flamed out.

Even the "good at the start senators", get influenced by the lobbyists.

KevinG
Look at Now-Cast. Now-cast is really a joke: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/election-update-trump-gets-convention-bounce-drawing-polls-to-dead-heat/ We don’t usually spend a lot of time writing about the now-cast because — uhh, breaking news — the election is scheduled for Nov. 8. The now-cast is super aggressive, and can overreact to small swings in the polls. I always thought that was stupid. If the election was held today, this is what would happen. Kind of a worthless metric. The only thing that matters is if the election was held on Nov 4. Article in Salon was my reference point. Ok, that is great. What article? I don't mean to sound bitchy here, but I really like to know where stuff is coming from. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/election-update-trump-gets-convention-bounce-drawing-polls-to-dead-heat/

Doctor B
Liberals will vote for Clinton and conservatives will vote for Trump. All so called issues such as experience are largely irrelevant to many people. I doubt any of you guys refused to vote for Obama because of his lack of experience compared to his opponent. What it comes down to is what middle of the road voters plan to do. Does immigration reform attract more voters than free tuition and more socialism? Does Trump scare you more than Hillary? I know how most on this forum feel but there are just as many who feel opposite elsewhere. Either way, these are clearly the most polarizing candidates in my lifetime. KevinG
Good to see there is pressure back on Trump to release his tax returns. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-wont-release-taxes_us_5798b8d7e4b02d5d5ed39dbb The Audit Defense is BS, . Without the release the public should assume he has something to hide. I hope the press continues pressure him on this. Also it was nice to see Franken take the press to task on their coverage of Trump. http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/watch/al-franken-s-challenge-make-lies-matter-732158531941 I hope they hear his words and go after him. His lies should have been pointed out and he should have been hammered for them as soon as he stepped off that escalator a year ago.

This past weekend, I thought Ted Koppel did a decent job interviewing Trump -- the interview aired on CBS Sunday Morning. Agreed the press needs to step up.

KevinG
Donald Drumpf encourages Russia to hack Hillary Clinton, "they will me mightily rewarded by our press" I am pretty sure he was trying to make a joke. A pretty stupid one that is true. But he has to know that calling for a foreign entity to hack a rival's email could be seen in a poor light if not treasonous. Who knows with this man? But if it was a joke or if it was a real call to the Russians, show that this man does not have the judgement to be president. We cannot have a president grabbing his phone and saying or retweeting every damn fool thing that comes to his head. The presidency is a serious job. He clearly has not taken running for president seriously. And if he really wants the Russians to hack (what Trump believes is classified and sensitive emails) well that is a treasonous act and he should be arrested. Regardless he is an idiot. Of course this will be glossed over in the press, because the press has no balls when it comes to Donald Trump.
