Chicago Cubs 2016 NL Central Champs!

Too bad it came from a Cards loss, hours after a home loss to the Brewers.  But I will take it anyway.

The next couple of weeks will be interesting and a test of Joe Maddon's managerial skills.  You have to keep the team motivated and rested for the playoffs.

In the playoffs anything can happen, but they look pretty damn good right now.  They will probably end up with over 100 wins, have two legitimate Cy Young Candidates (Lester and Hendricks) and one maybe two MVP candidates (Rizzo and Byrant) though my odds are on Murphy of the Nats right now, and of course the Manager of the Year Joe Maddon (there is no one else who is remotely close to him).  Looking at the potential playoff teams the Dodgers seem to be the toughest out there right now, with the Nats close behind.  I hope the Cubs don't crack under the enormous pressure (see 2008).

Bring on October!

Quite a finish in the Red Sox-Yankees game.  It's easy to second guess but this one is on Girardi.

Yeah, that was something else!

re: A-Rod. That pic ALWAYS reminds me of the Hamburger Helper hand. That WIL be his legacy. That, and the hands outstretched and then to his helmet while on second base mouthing :WHAT??!"

Or  that time he got the Blue Jays' 3rd baseman to back off the pop-up because he yelled "Ha!" as he passed him.

Even NYY fans dislike him.

This Twins fan is firmly seated in the front row of the Cubs bandwagon. History like this doesn't come around very often. If Theo can lead the Red Sox and then the Cubs to World Series victories, they ought to rename the Hall of Fame after him.

A Cubs/BOS WS would be fantastic....

Fucking brutal. 24 years old who just announced 5 days ago that he has a kid on the way. One of the few players you could watch (Adrian Beltre being another) and actually see the joy and the amount of fun he has of being out on the field.
