bcdoc Posted March 23 Share Posted March 23 Technically it is a musical, but we went to see " Sunny Afternoon" at Chicago Shakespeare. It is based on the music of The Kinks. If you are a fan, it is must see! If not, it lacks character development,but the music, the costuming, and musicians are excellent. The songwriting of Ray and Dave get their due. The show outside Pittsburgh was the first night of their tour and it happened only hours before their record "Restless" was released on John Prine's label. So you can imagine how stoked they were.
