Any theories on how Jin is alive?

Sounds as if there was some major BS going on with the on sales the other day. I feel very fortunate that I got mine with no problem. The below was posted on Backstreets.com today: A Letter to Our Fans: We know there was much confusion regarding Ticketmaster and TicketsNow during last Monday's on-sale dates. We were as confused as you were, as we were given no advance notice of the major changes in the Ticketmaster-TicketsNow world. (Bear in mind that we are not clients of any ticketing company, and that all those arrangements are between venues and ticketing companies.) Last

I went out school this morning and stood out in an actual line at an actual record store to try my luck. It worked well, as I was second in line and scored four GA's for the Charlottesville show with no problem. There were around 20 people in the line at Plan 9 here in Richmond and everyone got tix.

Running a little late, but like Big Ben, I'm sneaking in with a late one. Hope you had a great day.

Ouch! That was a great Aussie Final. I felt fairly confident that Ben would find a way to score with 2 mins left. He's done it again and again. No surprise he did it on the big stage. Springsteen was pretty damn good, now I just hope I get my GA's in the morning.

I wish I was a British dude, because I'm sure this would be a blast. A somewhat comparable U.S. reunion of the Raspberries a couple of years ago resulted in the release of a great live album from those shows, maybe Mott would do something similar. Anyhow, is the album named after the song "Rock and Roll Queen," released in '74 some sort of U.S. collection of tracks from a couple of different British releases? I have most of their albums, but this one is a standout for me with the title track, "Walking With a Mountain," and yet another great cover of "You Really Got Me," being my favorites. Als

The E Street Band did a press conference in Tampa for the SuperBowl in which Bruce confirmed that a second U.S. leg would occur later in the year. He specifically mentioned Cleveland and Detroit as cities that they will get to.

Ahh, the benefits of working for yourself. Bring it on any month of the year, just bring it on.

I love, love, love that album. I found it in a dollar bin in a record store I used to work in back in '93. My question for you is was there ever any crossover where ACDC and Rose Tattoo played with The Saints and Radio Birdman. I'm sure you're not that old, but perhaps you have some insight. As you probably know, there was lots of crossover with early punk, glam and rn'r bands playing together in NYC in the early to mid-70's.

I ended up getting SRO, Dirty South and Gangstabilly, which I found used for $7.

I still have everything from "A.M." through "YHF" on the cassette copies that I made off of cds and vinyl. I've still never had a cd player in any car. So, prior to getting my first IPOD 2 years ago, I was still listening to cassette tapes on long road trips. I've got about 180-200 total tapes left at this point.

Never have been able to get into this song. It's been a couple of years since I even listened to it, so maybe another go is in order.

You're spot on about Crazy Horse. I just wasn't really expecting how melodic they were, Big Star even comes to mind. I'm gonna go get "Southern Rock Opera," today and go from there. Thanks for the tips.

I saw DBT for the first time last night, which is amazing in that they've probably played 20 shows in Richmond going all the way back to the beginning. Anyway, I feel just plain stupid that I had some misconceptions about this band and never really gave them much thought. Holy shit was I missing out. What an absolutely incredible live band. Knowing virtually none of their material I spent the whole set conjuring up images of the Faces, Cheap Trick, Tom Petty, ACDC, the Raspberries and yes Skynerd and Molly Hatchet as well. But it all worked and worked in only the way that two guys who've been

I think it's plausible that some day a box set of pre-E Street material will be released. There's tons of originals from the Castilles, Steel Mill and gobs and gobs of solo acoustic, folkie-material. I don't think any of that would be on Tracks 2, but perhaps when Bruce is in his 70's or (GULP) deceased, the floodgates will open.

There was a little upcoming season teaser on the local news here last night where Lindeloff hinted at new, unpredictable romances. I'm sure this at least partially means Sawyer and Juliette.

Has anyone seen "The Reader?" It's the one on the list I know nothing about.

Also, just because Locke is dead back in the real world, will he be alive in some warped space/time once back on the island?
-
Wake Forest didn't last long at #1. Way to go Va Tech. Duke will probably be #1 next. That makes me sick as always.
-
Yeah it was, but it was sort of funny. Looks as if Desmond may be the pivotal character of the season. A pretty strong premiere I thought. Looks like we're in for another wild ride.

We Can't Even Get Fireeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Holy shit, the possibilities for this skewed island time are limitless. Seems like if anyone will know who Locke is Richard will.

Pink Houses by John Mellencamp
LouisvilleGreg replied to Head in a Guillotine's topic in Someone Else's Song
I grew up in southern Indiana in the 70's and 80's and you're right, there was (still is?) a sense of fierce loyalty that this guy belongs to us, speaks to us, of us. He had an air on invincibility around him. I like the first handful of records alright, though I don't own any of them anymore. Once I was old enough to get turned on to metal, I left Johnny Cougar in the rear view. Also, (and not to get too far off topic) I can't remember who mentioned the Avail cover of "Pink Houses," but I'm glad to know there are others on here who are aware of Avail. In a very direct way they are the reaso -
Must be a week for tripping down Levon's past. I just watched "Coal Miner's Daughter," for the first time in probably a decade this week and though a limited role, he is quite good as Loretta's father. You get the impression that the role wasn't a stretch for him to latch onto. That had things played out differently that he could've easily been that man. Pretty damn good music biopic as well. I think it far outshines the recent ones on Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, though I like both of those in their own right. "Honeysuckle Rose," is still me favorite of all though.

Here's a great story/interview with Bruce from the BBC. Some pretty heady stuff in this one. Enjoy: * Interview by Mark Hagen * The Observer, Sunday 18 January 2009 It's a cold winter's day, and I'm driving through snowy fields on my way to meet Bruce Springsteen. Towards the end of the 18th century, a Scottish emigr
