    Blackeye

lou, i just made wendy laugh last night when i said the same thing. "he had a black guy"...
  3. ok...confession time. "the family gardener" makes me weepy every time i hear it. lovely version here with scott backstage. to whomever made this little free preview possible (i'll assume jeff had some part in this), thank you for, as always, being kind to your fans. it made my night...can't wait to pick up the dvd tomorrow! 's gonna be good times, morgs!
  4. yup, wendy. beautifully put. you know me so well. my fave was the john/ken collaboration too...i didn't even know that it was one until we saw it in the liner notes. wendy, weren't we sitting in the parking lot at subway before making a record store run?
  5. sorry i missed this thread earlier...hope your day was great!
  6. being the impatient girl that i am, i can no longer wait to wish my bestest concert buddy wendy the happiest of birthdays. here's to many more road trips and rock tourism. love ya, girl! oh, two friends of mine dropped by to say something too...
  7. here's what i posted on my myspace messageboard, after my wilco-hating friend sean proudly posted the pitchfork article: thanks for the alert on the article, sean. i know how much you "love" wilco, jeff especially. this is from VC system administrator, donna, who is one of the most "tell it like it is" people i have encountered and who was in the audience, front and center. pitchfork is inaccurate in many ways once again. i trust the article that appeared today about as much as i trust pitchfork reviews to tell me what is good and what isn't. if you want a true account of what happen
  8. nope. i think it was pushed back to early next year. don't quote me on that, though.
  9. morgs, the pics are amazing! i can't wait to see all of them. sorry about your ticket, but i'm glad to hear you made it back to chicago safely. can't wait to see you both again soon!
  10. you know, i was in the second row and feel really bad for the guy that jeff was razzing just in front and to the right of me. jeff didn't know it, but the guy was really sick and felt like crap, so he just sat through the show. i don't think lack of interest had anything to do with it. regardless, sonically, the best wilco show i've ever seen. (i've been to quite a few, too) the acoustics were great, and the balance of sound was nearly perfect...mikael's parts were very audible and lovely, which is a great thing to hear from an instrument often muddled in the mix. the band is downright
  11. when i saw that there was a thread called "please give it a rest", i figured it was about people who were constantly bitching about something about wilco shows. i'm sure people like zebra, froggie, and others would kill for wilco to just come near them and play anything! while a surprise here and there would be fabulous, anyone that has ever seen wilco live knows that anything live by wilco is nothing short of spectacular. we now return to our regularly scheduled petty bitching...
  12. edie, are you going to urbana?! we SO need to catch up! yeah, that must have been great. i hope to hear it tomorrow! sorry wendy and i missed meeting you this time around...hopefully, it won't be too long until they'll be back around again!
  13. hope your day was happy and that the coming year will bring happiness and lots of cool shows your way!
  14. i'm the second person in the "we" wendy referred to. it's my first wilco show since april...i feel like it's been forever! i can't wait because i know it will feel new all over again. now, i just have to fall asleep tonight, and try to ignore the sounds and visions of wilco boys dancing in my head!
  15. jeff, sue, and family: may god bless and keep you during this tough time. love to all of you, jen
  16. well, wendy, i'll tell you through this not-so cryptic message: i'm still living off of $10 for these two weeks. (partially, thanks to you! ) collecting vinyl can be quite dangerous. parents should warn their kids about this like drugs, smoking, and sex.
  17. seconded, edie! we missed you down front last night!
  18. it was fun down with the "peeps" last night, lou. i just wish wendy could be two places at once...then again, i wish that i could too.
  19. neal's solo stuff is great. i'd give anything to be in europe right now, seeing some of these tiny shows that seem to keep popping up. was this one a regular show or a secret show? i know ryan's been hinting on his forum about a lot of secret shows in the near future.
  20. loved it. the crowd was a bit thin, but those that were there were spirited. the band looked to be in high spirits and gave all of us a hell of a show. i know...kraig. does that guy age at all? the highlight for me was jeff's spanish-style solo on listen joe...his guitar playing skills continue to get better and better. jeff always impresses me in an environment like this as well. he could have been "out front" a lot more, but instead was content to do his thing and step back, letting the others shine. great to see so many VC people representing...i love you guys.
  21. just received an email from wilcoworld saying that the album's coming along nicely and that it should be ready for spring! something to look forward to! also, heads up: they said there wouldn't be a lot of touring for a while after this little tour coming up, so if you want to see them soon, you'd better go. lastly, the guys have a podcast now. epi #1 features glenn...his fave wilco stuff and songs from other artists. i haven't listened yet, but it should be fun. you can listen to it on the site or dl it to your mp3 player of choice here's the link: wilco podcast happy friday, everyo
  22. thanks, everyone, for your sweet birthday wishes. i think the world and more of my VC family...you are the best!
  23. erin, can you send me that pic? i wanna put it on my myspace and show the world how cute my friend erin is! thanks for the b-day greetings. tell morgs thanks and hi too. love you both and miss you tons. j
