thanks for those fantastic pictures. the show was musically possibly the best wilco show i've seen. seeing that i've seen them plenty, that is saying a lot. "outtasite" was absolutely electric, and i would venture to say that the crowd cheering for the encore was as loud as i've heard it in a wilco show lately. (even more than thanksgiving in a much bigger house, i think) the band seemed to be in incredibly great spirits and having fun playing the music to a receptive crowd. the pure joy on jeff's face during "hate it here" and a few other new ones where a good part of the crowd was s

if i could hear "poor places" tomorrow night in indy, all would be right in the world, i swear. the setlist looks great, though, long encore or not. glad that so many of you had a great time, and sorry i missed donna swinging through the midwest again. (you aren't going to indy, are you, donna? if so, look me up!)

sorry. i was out of it for a while and missed that.

so, i was at the gym last week, and one of the girls who works there stopped me and told me that "that wilco band you always talk about" is in this month's reader's digest as one of their favorites/things to check out. i turned to page 30 of the june issue, and, boom, there's our boys! just thought it might make an upcoming trip to the doctor's office a bit brighter.

kamera sounds awesome! thanks, kalle!

i like this post. my beetle is as big of a wilco fan as i am. my opinion about all of this is that i am sick of people calling bands or people sell-outs. they have to make a living too, in this world of illegal downloading and the such. good music makes commercials better/tolerable, so i say all the more power to them. ps: the switchblade/key commercial? i laugh every time i see it.

he used to have pictures of nico (as in, the velvet underground and nico) on his guitar strap, i think. it could be her.

sounds like a great setlist, paul. "i'm always in love" and "kamera" sound especially yummy to me tonight. to top it off, they played my three faves from the new album..."you are my face", "shake it off", and "hate it here"...color me jealous, but happy for you, my friend.

listening to "sky blue sky" there, it made me think of something: if the wilco fans that liked songs from the being there era like "far, far away" haven't been happy with wilco's direction in a while, they should be satisfied now. all these performances made me think is that i'm glad i'm going to see them this summer.

Loose Fur's Born Again In The USA

the whole album kicks ass in a wilco album sorta way. i listen to it all the time, much more than i do their first album. -
if the part is what i'm thinking of, i agree completely...one of the best parts about that song.
-
the first time i heard him do that song was at champaign-urbana solo. i have a recording of it that i listen to often. he sings the lyric "should i be satisfied?"...personally, i like that mixed meaning. it reminds me of other great times when people switch up lyrics...the part about the molly character on "ob-la-di, ob-la-da" that paul mixes up. whether it is intended or not, it's brilliant, i think. oh, i just thought of the other time wilco/jeff switches lyrics..."as you turn to go"/"as you walk away"/"as i turn to go" and "i'll be glad and you'll feel sad"/"i'll feel sad and you'll

that was the first thing/song i thought of when i heard the album title...great ryan song, imho.

wow. upon first glance at that setlist, it seems pretty dang mellow.

my podcast with wilco downloaded this afternoon. great interview...lots of nels talking. they also play "side with the seeds", "sky blue sky", and "what light". some great quotes from jeff, per usual, as well.
