AYBS? is one of my all-time favorite shows. i even own the complete DVD collection. much like raquel's story, i used to watch it on my little b&w tv in my bedroom growing up. i never did get caught for staying up. i can't believe it because i used to have to hide my face in my pillow constantly while i snorted with laughter over some ambiguous comment made by mr. humphries and the rest of the cast. RIP mr. inman. thanks for the laughs and the naughtiness. heaven's a funnier place with you in it.

agreed...speaking of the beatles, when i hear "hate it here" i think of abbey road in the guitar breaks.

i'm just doing my first listen all the way through, and i am thinking right now that "shake it off" and "hate it here" are some of the most soulful songs i've ever heard out of this band who i think are pretty full of soul to begin with. (i'm feeling these songs like i feel a lot of big star songs...tweedy is channelling chilton here in many ways, which is, from my perspective, a huge complement!) i think that "you are my face" is pretty dang amazing too...the lyrics are gorgeous. i can't wait to hear some of these live with the full band! personally, i'm thrilled with this new album. i t

i think the whole second verse in "what light" is awesome...i always think of jeff and his feelings about sharing art encapsulated in a single verse. 'you are my face' is the other song that is really hitting me hard right now in the lyrics department.

for what it's worth, last night, jeff said something to the effect that he was proud of the album/it is his favorite. (exact quote is a bit blurry...still in cloud nine from the whole night. living room show plus album premiere? too much!)

holy crap...i love the lyrics alone as poetry, but this song is insanely good! i know it sounds dumb to say on a wilco messgeboard, but i love this band! word!

i just wanted to be the first to wish chandler coyle a very happy birthday on tuesday! many of you may not know him, but almost everyone on this forum has heard something that he has recorded and mixed through the years. we have many great memories that we can live over and over again, thanks to him. anyone who does know chandler knows what a lovely and humble man he is. i am very proud to be his friend and even more proud to call him my sweetie.

what light/on and on and on seems like a good closer combo. wilco always does a good job of doing that on their albums, i think. word. i love that song.

just saw the track listing, so i guess they did change it.

so, does this mean that the song title has officially changed? i don't think so, but that's just a guess. the old title is so nice, imho.
