My wife's friend bought her a ticket to a show at small theater in Chicago - it was around Jan,2014 - she knew nothing about them prior to the show - she said it was a great, great show. They ran into the band before the show in front of the theater and had a nice chat.

Yeah -- if all three shows sell out instantly and they add two shows, say two days later (Tues/Wed) - I don't think too many people would complain. The stage is set up - all the people are in town, etc. The city has been great with big crowds - for the most part - hopefully that will continue - it's going to be a very busy weekend for sure - all over the city.

It seems like that Peter Shapiro knows what he is doing, with regards to this Soldier Field shows. Would be interesting if they add more shows at Soldier Field.

Yeah, me too.

Wilco is still pretty good. This board has turned me onto The War on Drugs - they are good, wouldn't mind catching them live at some point. I can take small doses of St. Vincent - her music is kinda of interesting and she is a hoot to watch perform (only saw her via video streams). Lot's of great new jazz is still being performed and put out - but that's not everybody's cup of tea.

That's pretty crazy ---- good for them. If I don't snag tickets, I guess I can hang out in the lot during the day and make it back home at night to watch it on TV.

Pretty impressed with below news -- some of my friends did go the mail order route - I was not motivated enough to deal with it.

I enjoyed the double bass the last time I saw Ratdog - it took awhile to find both Rob and Robin in the mix, but as the show went on - I did and it sounded pretty cool.

WXRT - Saturday Morning Flashback - 1993 - Great year of tunes, thus far.

AmazonUK has some in stock -- I am sure it more than typical US prices, due to exchange, but cheaper than aftermarket US prices - could be wrong though. I have bought CDs from AmazonUK and never had any issues. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OGU6PK4/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B00OGU6PK4&linkCode=as2&tag=shtv.uk-21&linkId=N3SFDYDSQM742V6R

Yep - your friend is correct. Pitchfork, of all places, confirms. http://pitchfork.com/news/58191-bob-dylan-giving-new-album-away-to-50000-aarp-magazine-subscribers/

Guess it with his upcoming release, it's fitting that he does an interview with AARP. http://www.aarp.org/entertainment/style-trends/info-2015/bob-dylan-aarp-magazine.1.html

Think he nailed it. Guess it would have be interesting to see what Brian Jones could have done with it ---- he may have used on Satanic, but not sure.

You are right, if any set warrants it - it is this one - though I have had issues ripping Sony stuff with the software I use (EAC). Haven't tried to rip the 2 cd set, yet.

Tweedy doing another U.S. leg; Santa Fe, NM in late March

I am sure, come showtime, the Chicago shows will be a sell out. -

The Vic is smaller than the Riv, bigger than the Park West. I am guessing the recent December run has satisfied the Tweedy bug for people in Chicago. I am skipping the shows -- but I have been skipping lots of shows over the past year or so. -
Early this morning I had a dream that I was eating lunch with Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, and Eric Clapton --- a damn leg (calf) cramp woke me up, right in the middle of Clapton pouring me a beer out of a pitcher....

I finally did get the 2 CD Set of the Basement Tapes from the my library and listened to it --- it is definitely good and I probably will get the complete set at some point. As per usual with his Bootleg Series , the liner notes that come with the 2 CD are great. It was nice to hear a trombone on one of the tunes...

Yeah it's a good one - that "Soon" reminded me of the last time I saw Dylan (this past Oct or Nov in Chicago) where he ended his show with "Stay with Me" (the standard) - That night, I have not seen a more emotional performance by him in long, long time, than during his take on "Stay With Me" - it was really something.

Another 72 show for Dave's Pick 14 (Definitely agree another era would be kinda of nice). Listening to a somewhat new circulated audience tape this morning -- somewhat decent tape and great playing, first time listening to it. Archive lists only Billy on drums, but I though Mickey was around until 2/71. https://archive.org/details/gd1971-01-21.131516.aud.miller.flac24
