Just read Hoekstra's article - it's a good one. Never seen the film before, look forward to watching it. I ventured into the Checker Board lounge once (the Hyde Park location) during an off hour (early evening) and talked to Thurman once - he was grouchy.

Kinda surprised that a boot hasn't popped up on Dime, yet.

I heard on the XM Radio show that Henry Kaiser confirmed that Garcia was playing the Alligator-Nash guitar during the 1973 Keystone shows with Merle. Figured as much - his tone is great throughout the set.

5/7/77 has always been my favorite May, 77 show. 5/9/77 is a great one too, though.

http://www.newyorker...recordings.html I haven't had a chance to read the New Yorker article linked earlier, yet - but above is the writer's pick of shows that should be officially released - maybe this thread inspired the follow-up... Now listening to 2/15/73 - worthy of an official release. Just noticed that 2/15/73 is in the linked article...

I didn't feel jipped in the least with his 14 or so song performance. Great show.

Good point - the sound on the 78 release is a lot better.

Plus being a millionaire helps, too. He does a little worse for wear, but I guess I could care less how he looks, as long as his fingers and brain can still work together.

It is a great show - I think I enjoy it more than the Ladies and Gentlemen release.

The last couple of weeks I also has been using the site to listen to some of the "laptop" era shows - I haven't notice any hiccups while streaming - though I haven't been on the site this week. Anyway thanks for the site, tommyjacobs.
