Nice piece on Weir. https://www.gq.com/story/bob-weir-grateful-dead-profile

97 for me and yeah he seemed old. Back then, he did that little one goose step forward and back while doing a guitar solo, which was fun to watch. I will probably catch him when passes through Chicago again, as long as the venue is a good fit. Last time was in 2014. Currently re-listening to the electric set from 5/20/66 from The Live 66 Recordings set. He just dedicated Leopord-Skid Pill-Box Hat to the Taj Mahal (of course) ---- god love 'em....

Dylan's Oh Mercy, too. Personally first time seeing the Stones and the Grateful Dead. Both their 89 tours were great.

Got a day or so in St.Louis what to do?

I never have equate St. Louis with great BBQ - I had two great BBQ meals in Kansas City when I ventured there in 2002 to catch a Wilco show. But, I never had any BBQ while visiting St. Louis. That area does love their pork steaks, though. -

We took our kids up the Arch this past spring break -- they both did great - (6 and 9 year old's). I was fine until my wife pointed out the fact that it was swaying in the high winds (which it is suppose to do). We didn't stay up there very much longer after that statement... The Arch museum and movie is pretty great - OSHA workers watching it must have heart-attacks. -

I have friends who have been Blues' season ticket's holders since the mid 80's - this playoff I have been rooting for them. They were completely robbed last game - definitely a hand pass. Most years I am chanting 'the Blues are gonna loose', just to give them grief - but not this year. -

I kinda agree with Chez -- but if you have kids, the City Museum is a blast - hell, even if you don't have kid's it is a lot of fun. Forest Park is worth a trip. I hate zoos - but if that is your thing, it is a great one. A stroll down Delmar in the Loop may be nice too. Euclid Records and the other various records stores are decent, too. John D. McGurk's Irish Pub and Garden has great corned beef and pours a great Guinness --- it's in Soulard, which is pretty cool neighborhood. Lastly, the Missouri Botanical Garden/Tower Grove Park is a nice visit, too. I would skip Bellevill -
I never knew mushrooms were even on any legal/ballot table in the US - good news.

Well, I was hoping for a far better weekend for the White Sox... over the three games - 30 runs for the Red Sox and 5 for the White ones -- horrible.
-
Oh - I spotted those Orioles this past week - the Sox took 2 out of 3 - it should have been 3 out of 3.
-
We have been looking for the Orioles, but no luck, yet.
-
Nice to see both Chicago teams playing decent ball, as of late. Also, great to see Tim Anderson winning the AL Player of the Month. Hopefully the White Sox will get over the .500 hump this weekend.

Catastrophe was a great, great show. Enjoy!

That stinks -- they had some tickets at the door. I am friends with one of the owners and probably could have gotten you in with no problem. There was plenty of space. I haven't seen the Waco Brothers play in a long while -- I forget how much they bring a punch.

A fun night out. The Waco Brothers completely rocked --- a funny moment occurred when the mic's cut out and Jon and Dean mimed the lyrics as they were playing. First time seeing Mojo for me and he was everything that I figured he'd be. Sloppy guitar work, but a very entertaining. His tune, "Trump can suck my dick" (that he has been playing since 2016), caused a few 'fuck you's from the crowd and some left. I was wondering who they thought they were coming to see, if they were going to get that upset to leave. Mojo was hanging out the whole night with the crowd and stayed after the show

Mojo Nixon/The Waco Brothers at the Blue Island Brewery. Should be a hoot.
-
Yeah - that would be great if they put out a double record. I have neither on vinyl.

Yeah --- visiting Notre Dame was one of the highlights of my mine and wife's visit to Paris. I read that some of the art work and statues were off-site due to the construction going on, hopefully that was the case.

From singing along with my headphones on in home room to singing on stage

Great stuff! -
Of course the store I went to had none of the RSD releases, even they were listed. Oh well, at least it is nice sunny, crisp day in the city.
-
Thx - I guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, I'll head up to check it out regardless.
-
This will be my first RSD since I got a turntable - gonna try to nab one. Not going out of my way to get there super early to get in - the train schedule allows me 15 minutes prior to opening. Is it typical to call a store to see even if they will a copy or two to sell. Not really sure how this works. The RSD info sheet reads the below. Should I assume the will have copy or two of Warmer. Hyde Park Records Select Record Store Day titles. 11 AM-8 PM, 1377 E. 53rd St., 773-288-6588, hydeparkrecords.com.

I checked out Jorma's book from the library but did not get to around to read it before was due back. Still plan on reading it at some point. I have been reading the below - got a signed copy last month when I purchased the Duane Allman Skydog vinyl set (great set by the way). Only up to the point where him and Gregg formed the Hourglass. She is a pretty great writer. Enjoy the personal take, even though she doesn't remember him at all.

Ha! - same for Go-Go's for me. For months after hearing a song played on WXRT, I kept thinking 'a great comeback from "Brandi" from the Go-Go's' ---- Then finally my wife corrected me. CBS Sunday Morning had a great segment on her a couple of Sunday's ago. I guess Brandi splits all the songwriting credits with two other musicians ( who happen to be twin brothers) in the band, three ways,

We all know Garcia and Dylan were just jealous of Jagger.....
