I created a whole game using the above, but I used our wooden shed. We had boundaries that indicated singles, doubles, triples, and home runs. The 'batter' would throw it and the fielder would try to prevent it from getting past him. Either getting onto the back porch roof or getting the ball to the back fence was homer. I also remember wadding up pieces of bread and putting it in my mouth to pretend I had chewing tobacco while playing it... I do see kids bounce balls up at the school near my house from time to time. They have 4-square areas there, too - another great game of my youth.

Throughout the entire Netfix Fyre doc, I think there was about 2.25 seconds of footage where that guy was not drinking....

I kinda felt bad about not caring about anybody in this film - other than the people who worked on it and didn't get paid. I don't remember hearing about this fest. I watched the doc on Netflix, too - I guess the organizer is more involved in the Hulu version -- the last thing I want to see is an interview with that guy.

1/15/79 is also being discussed over on the Hoffman board - someone posted Dick L's notes on the show. "Brain Frying" is an apt and great description. (Jesse Jarnow posted the notebook page in his twitter feed). I am sure I mentioned this before, but one of the highlights for me seeing the Grateful Dead exhibit when it was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was seeing the original pages of Dick's notes.

I remember being a show right after or around the time he ran into his former classmates at the restaurant and he brought it up while on the stage. At least I fairly certain he did, because when I read that part in the book, I thought 'hey, I remember when that happen'. For the life of me, I can't remember which show, though.

I know he can be a tool - but I am guessing he wouldn't. Now if Rich writes one, I would have to think about if he would or wouldn't.

That's pretty awesome. I got rid of XM a couple of years ago, but always enjoyed Earle's show -- he talked a lot about baseball on his show, too.

I like seeing him both ways, but my favorite time was a solo show at the Park West during his Townes tour. Joe Pug opened the show - it was great night of music. The way Earle handled an over-served table that was set up in front of the stage was an incredible sight. The whole show could have been derailed, but he was able to handle it well. I must admit, that night he could have held a master class for solo artists (like Tweedy) on how to handle unruly, drunk fans without making anyone feel uncomfortable.

I also have Already Dead: A California Gothic sitting my shelf, too - would you recommend Dead over Tree of Smoke? (I am only in 20 or so pages in the Tree book)

The kid and I caught Spider-Man:Into the Spider-Verse this weekend - very entertaining.

I told my kid that the Bears are out and he said 'well that was quick...' I had a bad feeling going into the kick - crap way to loose a game, but so it goes...

Yeah some of it is interesting, too - I would support a proper release of the Satanic stuff --- in the the giant book that comes with it, like the White Album release - Keith can write a piece trashing both the Satanic release and Peppers for good measure...

Yeah - those sets are nothing like this White Album collection or like the Peppers' one. It still might be a rights thing with the Stones -- the whole ABKCO catalog. There is plenty of material in the ABKCO vault to do a proper Satanic release like the White Album/Pepper release - though I am not sure how well it would sell...I am not sure about the material for Beggers and Let it Bleed.

Finally got it from the library - it really is a nice looking set. Starting with Disc 4, which is studio rehearsals/takes and such. Revolution Take 18 is quite the trip. Enjoy take 2 of Helter Skelter, also. Looking forward to hearing the Blu-ray - which probably will be tomorrow. I have had the Esher Demos for a long while - I have not listened to them in a long while, though - guessing, I must have not have gotten much out of it, before. I can't imagine the Stones ever putting out a set like this. I am not sure which record they would even consider doing it for.

I am not a Van nor a Boston expert by any means, so I can't vouch for any further mistakes, but it is a good read. A half way decent copy editor should have caught that mistake, though.
