I think the Bears will pull out a win in at least one playoff game --- guessing it will come down to how Trubisky handles the playoffs. Man, Cutler was insufferable...

Yeah - my brother-in-law is pushing 60 and is die-hard Viking fan - I enjoy ribbing him, but I do feel bad at times. His garage is decked out with Viking stuff - it cracks me up every time I venture up there for a visit. I look forward to the Rams/Bears game - hopefully the defense rebounds a bit and Trubisky comes back strong. Wish it was a noon game, though - not a big fan of night games.

I guess they could have went without a keyboardist for at least the tour that was booked prior to Brent's death, like they did when Pigpen was absent a bit, but I am guessing that was never an option. I seem to remember hearing that Brent was going to have issues going to the Europe for the fall 90 tour (due to legal issues) -- I wonder how they would have handled that, if Brent would have lived.

The below was in the subject line of a Pitchfork email that I got today - I chuckled a bit. -
I tried to get tickets for their Licks' Chicago club gig - at the Aragon, but had no lock. Aragon has a much larger capacity (5,000) - plus it's not the best venue for sound. It would have been cool to see, though.

They played a surprised show in Chicago at the Double Door in 97 - I can't say I was hip enough to hear rumors or if I was I forgot - but a month later, I moved into an apartment that was a couple blocks from the Double Door, it would have been fun at least to hang around the club during the show.

Well, he will be in Buenos Aires soon enough --- many Nazis fled to Argentina after WW II -- (that Nazi comment is just a completely random statement - sometimes I just want to make use of my History major, since I never used it in my real life, just being in the trades and all...)

Thanks for the code -- I was trying to get tickets for my brother-in-law, but nothing was really great popping ups so far. So we are going to wait until tomorrow. Esp. since I already have tickets for Friday.
-
Which club show did you catch? My best seat/venue I ever saw them in was Alpine Valley in 89 -- we were about 25 rows back dead center. All the other times was in large arenasdomes or football stadiums.

I saw that the Keys' doc was on AXS last night, but didn't have time to watch it - looking forward to it.
-
Looks like they added a 2nd show for Chicago on the 25th.

WXRT is having another pre-sale tomorrow at 10 am (central) - their code will be - cloud
-
Don't know the bears code - the stones one is midnight - though I am guessing you knew that.
-
Yeah - one of the 1,000,000 pre-sale codes in Chicago is a AmEx one --- actually it's the one I used to grab my 2 tix. In Chicago there is another few pre-sales tomorrow and the general on-sale date is Friday.

Just scored a general admission ticket on the field -- $155.20 with fees. It's in the back of the field, but I'll take it.

When did Ticketmaster start this "you are now in the waiting room" stuff? I happen to get on the site around 9:45 or so to check out the prices of the tickets and 'got in line' - at 10 am a screen came up an there' 2000+ in line. I just remember hitting refresh a bunch of times until I got tired of it... 7 minutes later there are still 2000+

Never heard of it - the trailer looked pretty intense. Need to remember to catch it when it hits Prime.

Are you talking about Suspiria?
-
Did you make it to the Allman Brothers' Big House? Was in the Savannah this past summer and almost dragged the family on side trip. Now that would make a nice day .
-
It has been fun to watch - even the loses were close and entertaining. I think they, if they stay healthy, will win at least a playoff game (maybe more).

Just threw on the L Olympia, Paris, July 3rd 1995 show from the Stripped blu-ray box -- it really is a great show. I think I picked this set up while some site had a great sale going on - glad I did. Still crazy to me that Wyman walked away.

If he thought the R's would let him get away with it - he'd off a journalist every 3 days. He may try to sneak one in to see how it plays. The thing with him is that he values humans -- not with any morals, but with dollars. cents and votes.

If the sound is great, i can handle a band being faraway - as long the price of the ticket doesn't break the bank. Not to mention I am a sucker for the Chicago skyline. I did see the Stones at the UC a couple of times - once I was up in the farthest upper level and didn't enjoy it at all. It was just an echo chamber.

I discovered music from friends, older sisters and their friends., Plus, from reading interviews/books of musicians that I already enjoyed and respected. I read somewhere recently that Tweedy enjoys going through all of Spotify's Friday's new releases ---- i have tried that and it goes nowhere fast.... I have been collecting bootlegs prior to the internet --- but the internet has been incredibly great for that.

I am kinda glad they are playing Soldier Field - the sound at stadium shows has came a long way. I have seen U2 and the the three Fare The Well shows and was impressed how well all the shows sounded. The last time I saw a stadium show was in 97, when I saw the Stones - i was disappointed in the sound and swore off stadium shows. It's kinda cool that (as of now at least) they will be wrapping up the tour in Chicago.
