They played Perfect Strangers and Knocking at your Back Door, last month in Tinley. Must admit, I don't I have ever listened the the whole record before.

Finally lost their licence today. Steve Goodman's Lincoln Park Pirates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF3q7o8Yjrg

It was something different, at least. Fit the theme of the night, too.

Pretty cool stuff --- nice to see that Phil (and Bob) still supporting Head Count. Nice version of Shakedown, too --- I can see Chris Robinson doing great with this take of the tune -- Nicki Bluhm was great, though. "Shakedown Street" + "Get By" | Phil Lesh & Friends Ft. Talib Kweli | 9/7/18 | The Apollo Theater https://youtu.be/kCXN7Xgh-kY

This past summer, I finally gotten around to visit the area that will be impacted --- we noticed all the evacuation signs on the roads and the gates on the the highway exits. The oldest kid asked what they were for. The town (Folly Beach S.C) where we stayed at for a week has been ordered to evacuate and they are not even it the true center of the path. Great area - hopefully everybody stays safe and the landscape/property isn't altered too badly.

Yeah - the start of the Bertha was tough. So far, I only got through the 1st two disc's of the 1st show. The mix definitely gets better -- I think Billy sounds great through out and Keith, too.

UPS did circles to get the set to me, yesterday --- haven't listened to it, yet --- but they really outdid themselves with the packaging. Great looking set. Even my 9 year old was impressed.
-
The White Sox have been been playing pretty great since the break -- this is a huge blow.
-
Now it's being listed as $79 --- I hate when they do that.
-
Got my shipping email overnight -- it states it should be shipping to my house tomorrow - which might be problematic, since my street will be closed due to our village's fest in the park across the street from me. Guess I will need to find my local UPS place or I guess I could just stand and the corner and flag down UPS trucks all day long... Currently listening to VInce's first show (9.7.90) --- from the get go his board didn't sound all that great.

Saw a show during that Summertooth/Up tour, too, in St. Louis.
-
I haven't gotten one either - though I don't worry about such things with Dead.net -- I have received shipping notices on items that I bought after I have received them.
-
Looks pretty good to me.

That was fun listen - thx

Yeah - i can hear some similarities rhythmically --- Gotta Serve Somebday came out a few years earlier. (Recorded May, 79) -- West LA first appeared in '82, I think. Both great tunes. Dylan has been playing Gotta Serve Somebody again recently - - he changed a bit of lyrics and completely changed it, rhythmically.

Thanks for the above -- a nice read. I skipped the Dead/Dylan 2003 tour when it came to the Chicago area -- mostly because it was held down at the Joliet race track. I think the stage was blown down, the day prior to the gig. In hind site, I wish I would have went. Many of my friends went and enjoyed it.

Yeah - I don't revisit doc's too often - so I know it will just sit on the shelf, plus I caught it when it as on Amazon. I'll wait until the bonus stuff is out there and watch it then. About a week until the Pacific box is released - definitely looking forward to that...
-
Yeah - we watched Ozark, too --- thought it was great. It's shot nicely, too. Season 2 airs this Friday (8/31) - looking forward to it.

Looks like Glen did play with them for a few songs a couple of nights ago in Canada.
-
I guessing it is the Grateful Dead reaching out to the teams. Looking at the box that held the White Sox dancing figurines - it only listed the Grateful Dead organization. I think funds collected for these nights go to the Rex Foundation - the Dead charities wing. Baseball has always done this stuff - at least since the 70's. Kinda proud it kinda started with the White Sox (for better or worse) when Bill Veeck owned the team --- Disco Demolition was one the first times that this type of promotion went awry. But I remember going to the White Sox games and getting hats/shirts in the late 70

Were you shocked at Wrigleyville - esp. if you haven't been there since 85. Quite a change. Did they have anybody from the Grateful Dead organization on hand - the White Sox had TC on the field to say "play ball" to start their GD Night game, this year.
-
Yeah same here with Judas Priest --- actually I was never a huge fan of British Steel or the records that came after. I always enjoyed You Gotta Another Thing Coming - which was fun to hear. I am a sucker for Turbo Lover, too. They played that, too.
-
They showed Glen up on the screens during one of the songs tonight ---- it was a bit weird, they were showing Glen up on the screens performing a solo, while Faulkner was actually performing the actual solo. Great night of music, though - I thought Deep Purple put on a better show and sounded better - Steve Morse flat out rocks and Glover and Paice are solid. Space Truckin was the highlight. They should have played Smoke on the Water, then Space Truckin' -- Smoke seemed a bit off tonight, Airey seemed a bit off during the tune.

Had the below book on hold forever and it finally came into my local library today. Looks like the book goes up to 07.

Just bought a ticket for tonight's Judas Priest/Deep Purple show. Finally took advantage of those 'day of show price dropped tickets'. It was pretty crazy how the prices kept dropping through out the day. Got a $99 (plus fees) ticket for $22 - with fees it came to about $29. They are great seats too - about 25 rows back, center. For $29, I can handle the World Music Theater/Hollywood Casino for a night. I need to dig out a black shirt.... I grabbed the lasted Priest record from the library again last week - it is pretty good. Still wish I would have seen KK or Glenn play, but so
