  1. Just listened to Signe's last show and Grace's first show yesterday. Got Jorma's auto-bio, too - but haven't read it, yet. Very nice piece by Jorma - thanks for the link.
  2. Agreed ---- never thought the FBI would get involved --- take back what I said about Flake -- glad he got it out of the committee, so the full Senate can have some input. Guessing the Senate will create some new rule that any committee person not running for reelection is off any committee...Flake really put a wrench in things.
  3. Listening to 4/1/88's When Push Comes To Shove -- yeah, how can anyone not like the tune? Such fun!
  4. or you know Sen. Flake, you could have just voted no today while in committee and asked for an investigation...
  5. Yeah ---- unless something else pops up in the next 24 hours -- physical evidence (pictures , etc...), which proves that he lied under oath -- of course he would be able to spin a picture, too. Yesterday's sham didn't change anything with the R's. Going into yesterday, I didn't think Kavanaugh could pull off a more assholeness performance then he had during the first hearings, of course I was wrong. He reminded me be many of the high school douchebags that I went to school with, before any of these allegations popped up.
  6. The price of More Blood, More Tracks has been dropping - it's at $114, now. I bit the bullet and pre-ordered. Also, just got the 'A Simple Twist of Fate' book from the library yesterday.
  7. They all seemed completely bored in that footage. It was cool to see Nicky Hopkins play the Wurlitzer --- at least I think it was a Wurlitzer. Harrison's tone was great, too --- though it too seemed a little uninspired.
  8. Looks like Glenn plays on the record, too -- from the WIlco HQ email. Jeff (with additional drums by Spencer Tweedy + Glenn Kotche).
  9. Indeed --- caught the show up in Minneapolis, the new tunes sounded pretty good. Looking forward to the release.
  10. I assumed there was going to be at least a 2 disc version --- that stinks. Probably a ploy to get the collectors to spring for the 6 cd set - knowing that 1 cd version is never going to do it for them. I need to dig through my hard drive to see how much I have of this already.
  11. Yeah -- hoping the price will drop down a bit.
  12. More sad news about Betts -- hopefully he pulls through ok. https://jambands.com/news/2018/09/19/dickey-betts-critical-head-injury/
  13. Listening to 9/20/70 yet again, today ---- one of my favorite shows. The acoustic set is exactly perfect. https://archive.org/details/gd1970-09-20.140664.sbd.boswell.smith.miller.clugston.flac1644
  14. Sounds like something AC DC would have used for a deluxe box set version of If You Want Blood You've Got It. I like it.
  15. I went for the 2 disc of the 65-66 Bootleg and I have been kinda kicking myself since. I was hoping my library system have sprung for the 6 cd set, but so far they have not. I did the 79-81 complete set. Skipped the Basement set - but tI am able to get the 6 cd set from my library, when I feel like listening to it.
  16. Thx - Just put it on hold -- don't think I ever read it before. Blood on the Tracks is probably my favorite record of his -- guess I need to see how much the thing is going to cost before I decide.
  17. I never had a problem, "When Push Comes to Shove" - good tune.
  18. They played Perfect Strangers and Knocking at your Back Door, last month in Tinley. Must admit, I don't I have ever listened the the whole record before.
  19. Finally lost their licence today. Steve Goodman's Lincoln Park Pirates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF3q7o8Yjrg
  20. It was something different, at least. Fit the theme of the night, too.
  21. Pretty cool stuff --- nice to see that Phil (and Bob) still supporting Head Count. Nice version of Shakedown, too --- I can see Chris Robinson doing great with this take of the tune -- Nicki Bluhm was great, though. "Shakedown Street" + "Get By" | Phil Lesh & Friends Ft. Talib Kweli | 9/7/18 | The Apollo Theater https://youtu.be/kCXN7Xgh-kY
  22. This past summer, I finally gotten around to visit the area that will be impacted --- we noticed all the evacuation signs on the roads and the gates on the the highway exits. The oldest kid asked what they were for. The town (Folly Beach S.C) where we stayed at for a week has been ordered to evacuate and they are not even it the true center of the path. Great area - hopefully everybody stays safe and the landscape/property isn't altered too badly.
  23. Yeah - the start of the Bertha was tough. So far, I only got through the 1st two disc's of the 1st show. The mix definitely gets better -- I think Billy sounds great through out and Keith, too.
