Have you ever been to a concert that made you lose interest in a band?

Yeah - I pass when Dylan plays an arena or a large venue -- his voice gets lost easily. Though I did see a couple of minor league ball park shows where it sounded pretty great on the field. -

I guess the Stones would be one -- haven't paid for ticket in 20 years or so. With the extremely stale set lists and ticket costs, it is not worth it. Since 2007 or so, I always say I am done with Dylan - not because of a particular bad show or anything, but more because the shows started to sound the same musically. But I have probably have seen him 6 times, since. Though the last time was in Nov, 2014. I think this gap is my longest, dating back to 97, so maybe I am really done. -
The wife and I watched Mulaney's Comeback Kid special and enjoyed it - need to watch the new one. Presently we are 3 episodes into Season 1 of Handmaid's Tale --- I have never read the book, but the show is interesting. At times I do find myself laughing at the absurdity of it all, in which my wife (who has read the book) is always ready to rebuke me. Elisabeth Moss is definitely great. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I have no idea --- I pretty sure he is still over in Japan -- but I can be wrong about that.

They should have planned to move the whole operation to Finland for the spring/summer. I am sure they could have found recording studio there. O'Rourke could have left Japan for a while to help engineer/produce. Could have came up with a nifty Finland-related record title, too.

Got it - makes sense, now. It seems like a great, perfect time to leave the country for a while - lucky him!

Is Glenn in exile in Finland for the summer?

The Life & Songs of Emmylou Harris: An All-Star Concert Celebration! on AXS.tv is well worth searching out -- lot's of great performances. Don Was is getting pretty good at these things. I can watch Kris Kristofferson sing all day long. Wish they would have listed who the performers were as they got onstage ---- must admit, don't have a clue who many of these people are. Whatever duo sang/played Michelangelo was unbelievable.

We watched the Three Billboards movie last night - it was a great one. Well written/ great characters / great acting. One of the better movies I have seen in a long while.

He is playing the Auditorium Theater in Chicago. Cheap seats are priced right at $30 -- but those seats are so high up, it like you are on top of Sears Tower looking down. I sat up there for a Wilco show - man they never looked so small. The sound was bad, too.

Wow - that hasn't even happen to me managing little league, yet. Guessing one person gave the umpire the wrong line up.

Ezra -- always wanted to name my kid Ezra Myshkin ( one of my favorite literary characters - Dostoevsky's The Idiot) - but my wife nixed the middle name. Our other kid is named Zelda, another flawed person, but influential in the literary world. I guess, that what happens to some kids when they have liberal art majors for p's.

Oscar Wao is wonderful book. I didn't hear about Diaz, until I read your post. My wife and I were just talking about art/artists, yesterday - mostly due to the idiotic things Kanye West was saying. We concluded, that all humans are flawed (some way more than others). I have always able been able to separate the artist and their art. Though, I have never defended any artist who has said or did some stupid or criminal shit, because he or she was a great artist. Hell - we named our kid after a fascist, anti-Semite poet who was arrested for treason and committed to an institution. He wrot

I think Wiki may be taken things a bit too far. Though technically true -- i am taking these past shows as Nils sitting in for Poncho. Of course I may be wrong. I haven't heard anything official.

For the past couple of days I have been listening the latest ROXY: Tonight's the Night Live. Great stuff. Would have loved to catch him play during this era. It seems so laid back. Nils is on this release, playing with Molina and Talbot (plus Ben Kieth) , so I guess it's fitting that he played this past week, too.

I heard that he is pretty much retired and living in Hawaii. Maybe Poncho didn't think his chops were up to par for this set of shows - but that sounds unlikely.

The webcast is up on YouTube. Hopefully it makes it to a torrent site. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhsrENSFUCU&feature=player_embedded

Anybody catch the Neil Young/Crazy Horse stream last night -- I forgot about it. Nil Lofgren filled in for Poncho. Pretty decent set list. Hopefully the stream pops up somewhere https://www.rollingstone.com/music/live-reviews/neil-young-reunites-with-crazy-horse-fresno-live-review-w519752 Set List "Big Time" "Country Home" "Don't Cry No Tears" "Winterlong" "World on a String" "Scattered (Let's Think About Livin')" "Fuckin' Up" "Too Far Gone" "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" "Cinnamon Girl" "Cortez the Killer" "Walk On" "Like a Hurricane" "Mansion on the Hill" "Roll Another Number (for th

Perhaps, because one comic has balls and the other boobs.

Yeah I agree, I kept falling asleep during the last two episodes. While growing up, I don't remember hearing about any of this stuff. Interesting story, though. That main lady was pretty ruthless - I guess one would want her on one's side if you gonna lead a movement...

Caught some of it. Definitely a solid band, but it really didn't engage me to keep watching it. Will give it another shot, though. I did enjoy when he teamed up with Georgie Fame in the 90's.

Listening to 4/29/71 -- probably for the 1,342nd time -- probably not that much, but I have probably have listen to this show more than any other. The Loser always gets me, so great.

Sling had free HBO this past weekend - so I caught this. Definitely an interesting doc. Never realized that that the Colonel was an illegal citizen. Definitely a sad story.

Also on the Fall from the Phil Zone - the below was released --- I would be completely fine with an audience release. (Just make sure the taper gets a least a liner note credit). It would bring up the whole argument - if the band makes money off the audience recording - should the taper? I say the taper does not necessarily deserve to be paid - though they should at least to get a free copy of the remaster.
