  1. Below is the Chicago Tribune Night 2 review -- interesting reasons for not covering Night 1 - don't remember about hearing about a band member possibly missing the opening night. I wonder if this was another reason they pushed the XRT simulcast to the last night of the run. https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/ct-ent-wilco-chicago-theatre-review-1218-20191217-eq53zsbwhrgavinevchupbcgpq-story.html
  2. Last year the Whites Sox' Baines got into the HoF --- now Hawk Harrelson gets the nod. Happy for him. https://www.mlb.com/breaking-news/ken-harrelson-named-ford-c-frick-award-winner
  3. I have always enjoyed the instrumentation and the background vocals --- I will be the first admit that I am a Dylan 'apologist' - but, I never thought this record was phoned in. My 10 and 7 year old didn't complain this year --- actually I don't think they have ever complained about it.
  4. I am sucker for Neil Diamond, so I was kinda excited when I came across new vinyl copy of the below for $7 -- but it is completely dull and listless. Had to spin Dylan's Christmas cd twice to cleanse our decorating palate. Also dug through my parents old records and came across an old Peggy Lee Christmas record from the early 60's, which was rather delightful
  5. Listening to Dead Roots Stirring now via Spotify - pretty good stuff. Kicking around the idea of seeing the below on the 30th -- they are playing a small, great venue (Thalia Hall) - I listen to Sleep every now and then and they seem like they would put on a good show. Big fan of Josua Abrams', too - I am interested to see how the Sleep fans like Joshua. SLEEP with Joshua Abrams Natural Information Society
  6. Well that's good - I thought that maybe Twin Peaks fans really hate Wilco or something.
  7. Crazy -- below is from Sun-times Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy’s Northwest Side house hit by gunfire Gunshots awoke the Tweedy family shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday, Tweedy’s wife, Susan Miller Tweedy, said in a Facebook post. By Sam Charles Nov 27, 2019, 12:24pm CST The Northwest Side home of Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and his family was struck by several bullets early Tuesday. 8. Yeah 25x5 is good one. I still have Rewind on VHS -- that was a fun one -- the setting was a museum with Jagger and Wyman. Speaking of Wyman, I did watch Wyman latest doc - The Quite One a couple of nights ago -- well worth the time, some pretty cool footage. I watched it via Hulu - not sure if it streaming elsewhere.
  9. My library is bringing in Cohen's book in for me today - which should be a nice easy read while visiting the in-laws over the Thanksgiving weekend. I guess it's entirely possible that the band were in their hotels by 9 pm -- I know the wanted to wait for the sun to go down before they played and since the show was in December I guessing the sun set by 5 pm or so.
  10. I always assumed it was because the Hell Angels had access to good drugs ---- the Dead has always seemed to have a good relationship with them, I guess they shared their 'outlaw' spirit. I know I checked Cohen's book out from the library, but I can't remember if I read it.
  11. I remember it being in a 'Midwest Rockers' type wing. I was kinda surprise to see the stuff there, too -- this was back in 2012, when I went there to see the Grateful Dead exhibit that was there at the time.
  12. I saw them play two nights at the UIC pavilion,---- I think Margherita billed it as 'The Great 2009 Chicago Arena Tour' to insure induction into the hall ---- does that count? side note, I bought the night two poster last week during Wilco's sale for $5. They didn't have night one available.
  13. I hope all the members get in - but I think the hall actually does the picking and for some reason I don't think those past members will get the nod, guessing Tweedy will have some influence, though. I am guessing Leroy will get in because he was the two above records and those two were successful, award and sales wise.
  14. When they ever get into the hall, I am guessing, beside the current members, only Ken and Leroy will be part of it and maybe not even those two. But who knows. It would be a real shame if Leroy was not involved.
  15. Almost won tickets to the Weir show today from XRT -- was caller 6 - they wanted 10.
  16. Guessing ashes are mentioned, right? Ha!
  17. Finally listened to Colorado via the library - not bad.
  18. I really enjoyed the 2nd night at the Chicago Theatre last year --- that being said, I can skip this time around. It was great just seeing a trio up on stage - it helped that I had great seats and the crowd around me was great. Security let a lot things slide, which was a bit odd for the venue. I think the tape holds up, too.
  19. Below is the Chicago Theatre seating chart. I would stay in the triple and double letter range. The booths and mezzanine levels are nice, too. Great place to see a show. https://www.theatreinchicago.com/seating.php?theatreid=103
  20. Pete is talked about a lot --- tough gig, being a manager of the Crowes and Roth...wonder if he has any easy clients?
  21. I don't remember any Van Halen/Roth stories.
  22. Yeah I got the book from my library -- he does have some cool stories about the Stones and their time with Page and Plant.
  23. I about 3/4 through Gorman's book -- it is wonder that these two are back together, of course it is about money - but so it goes. I can see why Gorman is not involved, it seems like he has been quitting the band since the mid 90's. The book is entertaining enough -- basically on one page Gorman calls Chris and asshole, then calls Rich one on the next page, then back to Chris, back to Rich and on and on and on.
