  1. Think at least some of the folks will be sticking around today. How was your caucus? The cable news were beside themselves last night.
  2. I don't see a problem with it -- if you don't want to hear the filler on Disc 2, just get up and change it, which one will have to do anyways.... I have the below Dick's Pick and it has filler on disc 2. Dick's Picks, Volume Thirteen Grateful Dead Initial release : March 1999 Grateful Dead Records GDCD-4033 Three CD set of the May 6, 1981 show at Nassau Coliseum Disc 2 New Minglewood Blues (Traditional arr. Weir) High Time (Garcia/Hunter) Lost Sailor (Weir/Barlow) Saint Of Circumstance (Weir/Barlow) Hidden tracks - from
  3. Dave's 23 - 1.22.78 comes close -- about 26 minutes. I am all for filler. #33 was in yesterday's mail - looking forward to hearing it; the show was one of my 1st tapes. I played the hell out it for long while. CD 2: Bertha (Garcia / Hunter)Good Lovin' (Clark / Resnick)Ship of Fools (Garcia / Hunter)Samson and Delilah (Traditional)
  4. I have been using Reverb LP mostly since I bought a record player a year ago or so. Today I noticed this announcement on their site. Bit bummed. I agree that it is great site to peruse records. Never had any issues when I bought records through the site, either.
  5. 2,000 more this time around, I think (22,000 total). Also Dead.net has been having a lot of issue with shipping, which I am sure is putting off a lot of potential purchasers. My copy is scheduled to be shipped this Saturday. Finally got the Garcia Vol. 12 in from my library --- just threw it on - 1st impressions with Expressway - I like it. The vox are indeed a bit all over the place, but Garcia is complementing her nicely. The drums and bass are sounding great.
  6. The kid is 10 and I still don't think I heard the original I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song) ---- probably did and forgot...
  7. On my way to lunch today, I heard Lord of the Thigh's this morning on the radio --- good tune. Don't think I ever heard it before. It took me to a to the vocals, to realize it was Aerosmith. Looking into info on the tune - I found the below timely: from wiki:
  8. Good to 'see' you Lou - hope all is well. Will tune in.
  9. Yeah - people on Fifth Avenue better watch out.... Hopefully, history will fix all this within 10 years or so. My hope is by the 2032 Presidential election, all this will have pass.
  10. Last night, the wife and I just watched the 1st two episodes of season one --- man, what ride. Funny as hell. Looking forward to catching up.
  11. If you click on the look inside Amazon link on the book cover, you can read that the author gives a bit of commentary on the tunes and such. I am still waiting for the book to come in my library. https://www.amazon.com/Wilcopedia-Comprehensive-Guide-Music-Americas/dp/191103653X
  12. Yeah - listened to the I'm You by Hallelujah the Hills via Spotify - great stuff, indeed.
  13. Bit bummed that Judas Priest didn't get in, but not at all surprised.
  14. I guess it has a lot to do with the players union. Plus one can say a player was only doing what he was told to do by management. I haven't been following it too closely until yesterday -- didn't realize they were using a garbage can to convey the pitch. Below is a blog post, showing the how they did it, of course it shows the Astro playing the White Sox, Kinda crazy that the pitcher didn't go to the ump. It sure looks like he realized what was going on. Of course, sign stealing has been around forever -- I do think using video is going over the line, though. https://www.thebigle...o
  15. Just purchased Sam Rivers's Contours - it will be delivered tomorrow - looking forward to it. Haven't heard the record before, nor I have I purchased at Tone Poet release.
  16. Cool - thanks, did not know the book was out there. Just put it on hold at my library.
  17. I agree with lost highway -- Trump and the R's do not want Bolton to testify -- out in the press there has been the whole narrative of Bolton stating: “I am not part of whatever drug deal Sondland and Mulvaney are cooking up,”
  18. We watched the below over the weekend -- funny stuff, my 7 and 10 year thought it was hilarious, the wife and I thought it was great, too A lot of great cameos. Via Netflix: John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch
  19. Yeah, I am guessing Betts wouldn't want to stand side by side with Trucks and Haynes and play - but it would be great to see him on the stage, at least. Would love for him to at least come out a play a rendition of Jessica with Chuck.
  20. After I posted Garden show info - i looked back through the thread and came across the below quote.
  21. Hoping Betts decides to show. https://relix.com/news/detail/surviving-abb-members-confirm-50th-anniversary-the-brothers-celebration-at-msg/?utm_source=Relix+Daily&utm_campaign=dee6bbe533-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_01_03_04_51&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_486e6e4b54-dee6bbe533-27217083&mc_cid=dee6bbe533&mc_eid=a359e3b62c
  22. I have been seeing many of the members of the Joshua's band for close to 20 years - it was nice to see them perform at Thalia. I can definitely see why it was not everyone's cup of tea, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Takes guts to play one tune or motif for 40 minutes or so, esp. in front of an audience that is not necessarily there to see you. My buddy was kinda waiting for it to end, too - though. The people around me started to rumble a bit after a awhile, but I have definitely seen more noisy crowds for an opening band. Hell, last month when I saw the Indigo Girls at Thalia, that crowd wa
  23. Yeah -- completely agree after seeing the people in line for the Sleep merch at last night's show.
  24. Sleep with Joshua Abrams Natural Information Society at Thalia Hall.
  25. The below Via Chicago link has plenty info --- Pilsen is great place to hang - a lot of good taco joints. The last time I went to Thalia, we ate the Honky Tonk BBQ, I am not a BBQ expert, but the food was decent. There is bar in the basement of the restaurant that is attached to Thalia - a nice place to hang prior to the show. I still plan to hit Monday's show with a buddy and my brother. http://viachicago.org/topic/35877-going-to-chicagowhat-to-do-see-stay-etc/
