  1. Just started to listen to it now. Anybody know the meaning of 'slated' and 'not slated'? Guessing it's studio jargon. Hopefully they do the same for American Beauty.
  2. Pretty cool news: https://www.oneillinois.com/stories/2020/6/30/john-prine-posthumous-illinois-poet-laureate?fbclid=IwAR3fz_Vu5D6-pBd3h5deuHwbIjT0g15FFrRFrpTX0MxY3O0Dlyelkts1pNo
  3. That's a shame - seen him when he was in Dylan's band a bunch of times.
  4. False Prophet should be great live --- a nice way to open a show.
  5. Bit bummed that it is a 71 show and not a 70 show. At least, I will save some money... The latest Dave's Pick is definitely a great one.
  6. Guess I heard the song when they played it at Lollapalooza in 2006 - can't say I remember the tune, though.
  7. New song from the Stones - it's ok, I guess (only heard it on my crappy work computer). Dig the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNNPNweSbp8&src=Linkfire&lId=e90d3d01-23ca-42fb-aaeb-16fe5b27cebf&cId=3969b024-2988-11e7-9fd0-066c3e7a8751
  8. The Dead & Co canceled their summer tour and everyone who bought tickets, should automatically be getting a refund within 15 days - no action required on the ticket buyer. Hopefully this pans out -- seems like the easiest policy from a consumer perspective. I am guessing Dead & Co. people had to get involved with Ticketmaster to get this done - which I am grateful for. remphish1 -- you and your family should put on your own concerts --- my kid is taking violin - I play with along with him on my guitar (at times, much to the chagrin of the kid). Don't play anything: grab some pots an
  9. A good one, for sure. Actually there is an old short thread on the show. It's bit funny that Wonder Years was mentioned in the old thread --- I started watching that series again with my kids last week. My oldest kid about year younger than the Kevin character (from Wonder Years) when that show started - I already have been seeing some of the plot lines play out a bit in his life. Will probably wait a few years to watch Freaks and Geeks, with him - I do look forward to that. http://viachicago.org/topic/44635-freaks-and-geeks/?hl=freeks
  10. Below is the Wilner SNL tribute. https://youtu.be/_p2vIpl-nOg
  11. Yes - a good one. Loved the Lou Reed and Hal picture.
  12. That's cool. I think there is scene in the I Am Trying to Break Your Heart where Spencer is playing along on his knee to a song - think it was Heavy Metal Drummer. Though, it would have been pretty funny if you had a Richard Cole/Peter Grant type road manager who would have berated little Spencer ---- yelling 'hey little piss-ant, I don't care who your parents are - get the fuck off my drummer's set', while pointing a finger in his little chest...
  13. Definitely a sad loss --- wish I would have saw him perform.
  14. Yeah, a very calming room/attire for sure. Nice song, too.
  15. Just saw them twice - both shows were after Berry left. 1999 in St. Louis and 2003 at Red Rocks. Wilco was the opener for both shows. Had a chance to see them on the Green tour - bunch of my friends went, but I skipped it - wish I would have went.
  16. Glad you are on the mend The Inside of Out. I still need to go into the office everyday, small office, just 3 others and no clients ever come in. My wife and daughter have asthma - my main concern is catching it and passing it. We have been viligante with clean up and I change my clothes and disinfect right when I get home from work. I have been the only one who has left the house in over 3 weeks, other than family bike rides and family walks with the dog. A lot frisbee. We are very fortunate that my wife and I are both working. Friends and family members of ours are not so fortunate. Cr
  17. Sirius/XM will be streaming for free until 5/15/20 -- it was nice to listen to a few minutes of Stern -- never was a huge, huge fan - but it's nice to hear his perspective on whats going in NYC. Also, regarding old movies and kids - I watched the original Bad News Bears movie with my 10 year old a bit ago -- I definitely had to cringe a bit. Great movie though and I think message far outweighs any negatives of the swearing and 'off-color' humor of it all. Matthau was, of course, awesome. (an aside - I coach my kid's baseball team - so it was fun to throw in a few "see, at least I am not a
  18. To make things even worse for this baseball season, White Sox radio announcer Ed Farmer dies. Always enjoyed listening to him. Also, he was always great as a guest on the Steve Dahl show. Great guy who battled many health aliments over the years, but he always bounced back. I did catch a few spring season games via the radio this year, but the games I caught he was not in the booth - bummed that I didn't hear him call a game this year.
  19. Got it. Guess it saves on travel and such, just to do it when you're in town for gig.
  20. Kimmel shoots in LA, so it makes sense that they were booked for this week.
  21. I don't how the hell I never knew about the back story of One Tree Hill - googled Greg Carroll while watching the performance in the above link. Great, great tune.
  22. That was a great game -- I have always watched the Ilini play since I was a kid and was really happy when Weber got the coaching gig, since I was a SIU grad - even though Weber started coaching SIU after I graduated.
  23. Yeah Fleabag is great - enjoy!
