  1. To make things even worse for this baseball season, White Sox radio announcer Ed Farmer dies. Always enjoyed listening to him. Also, he was always great as a guest on the Steve Dahl show. Great guy who battled many health aliments over the years, but he always bounced back. I did catch a few spring season games via the radio this year, but the games I caught he was not in the booth - bummed that I didn't hear him call a game this year.
  2. Got it. Guess it saves on travel and such, just to do it when you're in town for gig.
  3. Kimmel shoots in LA, so it makes sense that they were booked for this week.
  4. I don't how the hell I never knew about the back story of One Tree Hill - googled Greg Carroll while watching the performance in the above link. Great, great tune.
  5. That was a great game -- I have always watched the Ilini play since I was a kid and was really happy when Weber got the coaching gig, since I was a SIU grad - even though Weber started coaching SIU after I graduated.
  6. Yeah Fleabag is great - enjoy!
  7. Same for Illinois - but for medical use only. (as 1/1/20, recreational use was legal)
  8. Would you (or anyone) mind sharing a link?
  9. I guess, this whole situation may finally get me to set up these social media accounts that I have been hearing about for so long (full disclosure, I just jump on my wife's accounts when I feel the need). Tonight, a local musician I know ( he plays a lot of house parties, charities, and bars in my village) is putting on a live show tonight via the web. I told my wife, I am going to pull out my guitar and play along with him, while watching it. (my kid's are going to love it - probably not, but I'll enjoy it.)
  10. The wife and I are watching the Indigo Girls live show via FB.. 61.5k watching according to the FB feed. Pretty cool.
  11. Roadcase sale going on: https://wilcostore.com/collections/roadcase?page=1 I don't think I have bought one, yet. Could be wrong, though. Need to check my hard drive. Thinking I bought a Solid Sound weekend.
  12. All our schools will be off for 3 weeks (south suburb of Chicago). My wife, who works at the Univ. of Chicago, was told to work from home indefinitely. Also, I am in trades, too - never thought we would be told to shut down for a bit, but who knows.
  13. Yeah, I was surprised that he took lead on the that, but I thought it sounded pretty good. He has somewhat that same vocal timbre as Betts. Not to mention it seem like a nice shout-out to Betts, by having Chuck sing it.
  14. Been listening to a tape of the 3/10/20 'reunion' show. Sounds pretty damn good, esp. Chuck (god love 'em)
  15. About 40 pages into the below. Decent read. My wife has read a few of her books, but 1st one for me.
  16. Yeah - no begrudging here - just making a point on the cost difference between the 13 years and it stinks that I will be passing due to the cost.
  17. Kinda bummed on the price for the lawn (where you can't see the stage) - $56 or so with fees. Far cry from 2007. Inflation is a bitch, I tell ya.... Had a great time at that 2007 show....the lawn was a hoot.
  18. I am guessing at least once per series, at least towards the beginning of the year.
  19. Go White Sox! It has been a great off-season for the White Sox. Expecting them to make the playoffs this year. I already have tickets in hand for three games; it has been a long while since I bought tickets before a season has even started. Should be interesting to see how the Astros are received through out the year. I'll leave it to others for predictions.
  20. That really stinks. Keep well.
  21. Must admit never heard of Andy Shauf before, but listening to Neon Skyline now via Spofity, pretty good. He is playing Thalia Hall this Saturday and it is sold out. Looks like they could have moved that gig to a bigger place, too.
  22. Gabbard is still in it, I believe. She even received one delegate in America Samoa on Super Tuesday.
  23. Yeah - same for me with new music, if I am interested in new music, I typically just go the local library route. But Liam's efforts has propelled me to actually buy the vinyl. Just the right amount of pop and rock, I guess. Lyrics are pretty dreadful, at times - but the music/melodies covers that. He uses different songwriters/producers for various songs, which help make the records interesting, too.
