Ottawa, IL -- ha! We are biting the bullet and camping out at Mississippi Palisades SP over the Labor Day weekend -- probably will be kicking ourselves, but we can always bail if it gets too crowed/noisy. and I haven't been to Ottawa, Canada ---- though we a now prepared to go - we finally gotten around getting passports for my kids - in case we need skip the country and the crap hits the fan.

You are right -- it shows that GA tickets are still available, but when you click to buy - it states not available. I didn't click on the purchase tab, yesterday.

That's great to see. Listened the 1st set of 8/3/18 from Alpharetta, GA. They are definitely sounding good. Kinda surprised that there are still floor seat available for all three Allstate shows.

Someone posted the below link on the Hoffman board -- pretty funny. https://twitter.com/i/status/1030596706549866496

Yeah - I didn't mean be flippant about the fans -- it's definitely a bummer for them, too. But I am guessing a few of them are blaming the band - which is a shame, if that is the case. Billy Breathes came out when I starting dating my wife - she bought it because she knew I liked Phish. The cassette was in her car player a lot the 1st year we were together. Must admit she always enjoyed it more than I did ( I was still stuck in the early 90's) - but I never asked her to play something else. A lot of great tunes on it. Would you mind sharing a link to the 20th anniversary podcast? -- thx

Guessing the band has insurance for stuff like this, right? A few days ago, I read that the area is a state of emergency until August 21st or something. Was wondering if they were going to be able pull it off. Feel bad for the band and crew. It being my birthday this weekend I was planning on ordering the webcast. I think I will stay away from Phish sites this weekend -- guessing there will be some gripes -- nothin' worse than whiny Phish phans - god love 'em.... Just threw on Billy Breathes -- been a long while.

Is the info Austerlitz's book differ than in the below? Not sure if you read the below one or not.
-
Yeah -- it being a Hunter/Weir penned tune, I think it is a bit different than the Blue Mountain tunes - I think they should give it a shot. Why not take advantage of Hunter penned tunes that were written with Mickey or Bobby after Garcia's death. Mayer can use his mad dancing skills during some of the Hunter/Hart Mystery Box tunes...Can you imagine a Full Steam Ahead opener, the place wouldn't know what hit 'em....

GD Radio is playing a Furthur show from 11/15/11 --- Right now they are playing Weir's Big Bad Blues - a pretty decent tune. Dead & Co should play it, maybe they have. Lyrics by Hunter http://whitegum.com/introjs.htm?/songfile/BIGBADBL.HTM

Well that stinks. I have been doing the above, also. Thx

Is there a site that has all the current dates and is updated? Thx.

Just started the below.

I just never notice Blair before and I have seen this video a bazillin of times since it was released --- it must have been deliberate. I think Blair kind of left, right ---- he wasn't fired or anything? Kinda like a shout out. That would have never happen with the Stones -- Wyman has been white-washed completely out of everything. Even if Wyman would come back, like Blair -- I still think he would have not been allowed to be photographed....

Is that Ron Blair on the TV screen, though - right before or after the Chuck Berry footage?
-
It's a great one. Looks like that's Ron Blair at 2:48, on the TV --- Howie is in the video, too. Guessing this is right when Howie joined, not sure though. I could be completely wrong with the bass player being Blair, too. Always loved how Mike took the guitar with him at the end, I would have, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtLpZWNyM0I

Do you care if a band has a lazy setlist?
calvino replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
At least by having same or near same set-lists has helped me save money over the recent years -- typically I see Dylan and Wilco over multi-nights - now I am fine with just catching one show during a run or tour. -
Maybe their roadies are waiting on the side of of the stage with a beverage in one hand and a pair of flip flops in the other...
-
What about a bassist - Oteil Burbridge, often plays in bare feet -- though they always have fancy rugs on the stage, at least Dead & Co, do ---- who doesn't like the feeling of a great rug in bare feet???? Weir has gone bare-footin', too.

Got it, thanks - I remember Wolf kinda giving Walsh a bit of a run around.
-
Can't remember, did the author ever end up hearing a tape from a performance at the Catacombs -- Wolf was suppose to have had it, right?
-
You Got Lucky is a great tune - synth sound and all. Must admit - I heard every album of his - but haven't really listened half of the them ---- I wish I would have gotten around to seeing him. My brother and his wife probably caught him 15 or so times over the years ---- each time they asked me to go....

Threw this on -- it is so fun watching Garcia smile...His true love of playing and love of music is so evident. Sadly it didn't show all the time.

Just got the Royal Albert Hall 1971 set from the library --- it does sounds good. Didn't LouieB say he was at this show? I think I like the Live at Fillmore -1969 better, though. The Royal Albert Hall set is good, too - though. The Jesus is Just Alright was an automatic skip for me -- what a dreadful song. Just read that the Byrds were the first to cover it - prior to the Doobie Brothers - yikes.

Just got the below email --- Don Was has always kind of bugged me - at least his production has. Should be an interesting show. BOB WEIR AND WOLF BROS TO TOUR THIS FALL TRIO FEATURING DON WAS AND JAY LANE PERFORMING SONGS OF GRATEFUL DEAD AND MORE 19 DATES ACROSS NORTH AMERICA Bob Weir and Wolf Bros featuring Bob Weir, Don Was and Jay Lane performing songs of Grateful Dead and more will embark on a 19-stop tour this fall. Weir says, “Wolf Bros is something that really took its roots back in the spring of 2015 when Don Was came up to TRI and helped us piece together Dead & Company

Also, finally got around to obtaining the Grateful Dead Gear book -- I always borrowed it from my library, but it went missing. The edition I got was definitely a reprint and not a very good one at that. All the pictures are black and white. But I happy to finally have a copy of it around the house for reference.
