I am waiting for my library system to get it in. Did listen to a bit of it via Spotify while at work -- looking forward to listening to on my main system. ( A kind of aside -- now playing the 9/10/91 Dead show with Branford Marsalis sitting in ---- Coltrane's influence definitely went beyond jazz)

The Vanguard box probably sounds 'too closely miked' - because it was. The stage/club is small I believe many of the shows in the Europe were recorded on a large stage - non-club gigs, hence the larger soundscape. Afro Blue Expression is indeed a great one --- but again these shows were recorded in a large auditorium. Has anyone gotten the latest edition in the Miles bootleg series --- The Final Tour: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 6 - I have not yet. I do have the below, but I haven't gotten around to get the latest one, yet.

Just threw on Ole - Coltrane's last release on the Atlantic label - a great (maybe) under the radar record of his. Great compositions and playing. Perfect record after spending a day in a ball field while the mid 90's coaching little league... Incredible line-up, too. The Village box from 61 is still my gold standard and go-to for him - the first box my wife for me over 20 years or so for me. Imagine being in that room for those nights of music... Live from Seattle is the one I reach for when I really want to hear him stretch it out.

How was Earle -- I seen him around 6 or so times -- sometimes it's real great, sometimes not....
-
Yeah - I had to keep refreshing for 4-5 minutes or so - was surprised when those tickets finally popped up.
-
I believe so - I think the ticket read Orchestra Pit Row 2.
-
Just pulled 2 pit tickets for the show up in Minneapolis. Looking forward to it - a stay with my sister up there and she is looking forward to celebrating my kid's 9th birthday the Saturday after the show. (plus we have free baby sitting for Friday night - woo-hoo) The Ticketmaster links shows Spencer -- does anybody know if he is playing with Jeff or is a solo show?
-
Yeah - I thought you already knew that ----- that's why I made my remaster/mix statement. At least they put some effort into it -- many have already bought the 'right after the show downloads'. I am guessing the set will sound much better -- at $500, it better.
-
Indeed -- that Baker's Dozen set does look nice ---- it's nice that the re-mixed/mastered it for this release, too.
-
I am still buying physical releases -- i do grab the booklets and such when I sit and listen, though.
-
Up at Dead.net, too. I ordered it -- no issues, either -- which is odd for dead.net

The dates looks good.

PNW??? Pacific Northwest? or does it mean something else?

Finally a great White Sox game last night - it's been a while. It was nice to top Sale in a 1-0 game. It's also nice seeing Jason Heyward (Cubs) finally hitting.
-
Oh man.
-
Yeah -- the drinking probably doesn't help, either. I know a few Irishman who tend to get grouchy when they drink.... I definitely need to read a Van Morrison bio.
-
Well that was a bit trippy. Fun listen.
-
And grouchy, I guess... Also didn't know he was so friendly with Peter Wolf.
-
Just finish that book, too. It was a great read. Crazy times for sure. Thought the bit about the James Brown concert right after MLK's assassination was interesting. Nice to see Barney Frank's name pop up.
-
Thanks for link -- friends saw him this past Saturday in Chicago and raved about it --- watching it, I can see why. Wish I would have went.

Beltman posted the below trailer in the 'Wilco heard while you're out and about' -- might as well put it here --- looking forward to seeing it. https://youtu.be/M4lzoQKIF8E

Witness my first D&D game/adventure, today --- my 8 year old played with a few of his friends -the other two fathers played when they were younger and one was the Dungeon Master. He was using a few Dungeon 87 edition magazines as guides. It was pretty interesting. My kid entered the adventure midway - he's a wizard. The adventure will continue...
-
Yeah --- the dude was just hanging out after he caught it checking his phone ---- I was thinking he may want to duck away for a while - but I guess the fans in Pittsburgh are nice. It was a great catch and clear (to me at least) that the ball was over the line. I just found it funny that Rizzo was involved with another replay.
-
No -- Contreras (Cub's Catcher) got hit twice, though. The 2nd time, the pitcher was definitely having issues, though. Didn't see the 1st time. Rizzo was involved in another review, though. He hit home run to the upper deck and a fan caught it at the railing (a nice catch by-the-way). They had to review it to determine if he caught it above the yellow line. The fan happen to be a Cub's fan, too (at least he had a Cub's jersey on -- they were playing in Pitt)

Now MLB comes back and says Rizzo slide was definitely illegal. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-reportedly-admits-anthony-rizzos-controversial-slide-vs-the-pirates-should-have-been-called-illegal/
