  1. Honestly I don't know why I asked --- Gans and Lambert talk about it on the Tales show -- I remember looking into it when I entered college in 1990 --- I never paid to participate on any forum - so I never looked into it. I guess I was just curious....
  2. Curious to know if anyone has been or is a member of The Well? Always has been interested in signing up. Currently listening to Dave's Pick 14 - so far Disc 2 is really something.
  3. I am sure Weir has a lot more money than Wilco does and his doc was in limbo for awhile ---- guessing it's expensive distributing a dvd and probably there is not much of a payday in the end.
  4. When I was kid and my mom had bunco, it was up to me to fix my dad's lunch before he headed into work (he worked mid-night's) - typically my mom said 'just make him a liver sausage sandwich and give him some chips' - I hated that.
  5. Is this a difference between liver sausage and liverwurst?
  6. Listened to the 5.7.70 show --- decent enough audience recording --- Great Lovelight --- they break into the St. Stephen melody for a while during it -- I don't recall them doing that before - can be way off, though... https://archive.org/details/gd1970-05-07.aud.sirmick.32276.sbeok.flac16 http://www.deadlistening.com/2008/06/1970-may-7th-mit-dupont-gym-cambridge.html
  7. I brought up Scratch Brewing up a bit ago - just read that they will be up north here participating in Chicago Craft Beer Week. Amazingly my local pub (Flossmoor Station) isn't partaking in any of the events -- we really need a new brew-master.... Below is a video for the event -- nice bit about Scratch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9YLyH2lqoo&feature=youtu.be
  8. Been watching this over the last couple of nights - wild stuff. Got about 25 minutes or so left, to watch. My baseball watching memories only go back to about 79 or so -- so I think baseball has changed a bit by then --- though I remember hearing about all the cocaine use of the early 80s.
  9. Yeah -- glad Netflix picked up that doc --- looking forward to it. The doc came out a while ago, but they couldn't find a distributor, until Netflix picked up. They talk highly of it on the XM Tales show.
  10. Article on the in-store performance, as well as the Pageant Wilco gig. http://www.stltoday.com/entertainment/music/reviews/jeff-tweedy-brings-both-tweedy-and-wilco-to-st-louis/article_c8f1f19f-6cdf-5ac2-9090-6dbe1d636097.html
  11. Parts of that run was released as a Road Trip -- that To Lay Me Down is on the bonus disc. It's a good one. Not sure what the next box will be, lot's of rumors of course. The recently found Betty Boards would be nice - a few shows spanning a decade so, might be cool.
  12. I bought the 1st Spring 90 box set - but still haven't pulled the trigger on the larger 2nd Spring 90 Box. Only 500 or left -- hoping it will sell out, soon - so I won't be tempted. I wonder if they are waiting for the 2nd Spring 90 set to sell out, before they announce their next one?
  13. I haven't heard the actual official release of Wake Up to Find Out -- but Brent may be tempered in the mix a bit more then he is on Without a Net ---- I believe Without A Net was a bit of a tribute to Brent -- at least it was dedicated to him -- which may explain his prominence in the Without the Net mix. I always have enjoyed Without a Net, though.
  14. Ha - the rain held off to after I got home last night. It was fun --- a great mix of people - age wise. Decent crowd. Many danced, smoked and drank - it was fun. It would have made for a great setting for a vaporizer commercial. The video wasn't much better than the boot I had for years - except it didn't have the annoying audio drop-in's between songs that both my boot video and audio tapes have. I once heard that the audio was Healy - not sure if that's the case though. Great show by Jerry --- both Phil and Brent seemed a bit subdued, though, esp. Brent. Weir was on, too.
  15. That is a nice set list --- I always have been a sucker for Eminence Front.
  16. Hate to say it, but I think Ventura needs to go.
  17. Very disappointing season thus far for the White Sox.
  18. I am sure your pug would have been fine, as long as it was with you. I now live in the middle of suburbia and spotted a coyote walking down my side walk one evening --- oddly enough I was watching a PBS documentary on coyotes --- yelled for my wife so she would see it too, to make sure I wasn't going crazy and she saw it, too. It proceeded to cross the street and took a leisurely stroll through the park that is across the street from me, before it ran up onto the train track embankment. Use to see them a lot in Jackson and Washington park, when I lived in the city, too. They are harmless, fo
  19. If anybody finds themselves in the middle of nowhere in Southern Illinois - Scratch Brewing Company in Ava, IL is a great little place for a beer. The beer menu changes on each weekend -real nice, laid back atmosphere. The owners are all nice to talk to. This weekend's Beer Menu: http://scratchbeer.com/
  20. Read that he has been playing Autumn Leaves, in addition to Stay with Me. How did Autumn play out with the crowd. (assuming he played it in Memphis)
  21. Just hope pushing Clinton to the left during the primary doesn't hurt her in the general. I wish the party would go further to the left, though - just not sure if the voters who actually vote in the general feels the same way.
  22. The most interesting thing for me to watch will be the O's taking the field for the 1st time in the game --- Not sure if the O's have a Sammy Sosa-type player who runs out out to right field and does a whole routine -- wonder what Sammy would have done with an empty right field. (just turned it on the radio and Sox are already loosing 7-0 in the 3rd - crap)
  23. Originally, the game was suppose to be at 6:05pm (Central) , but it got pushed up, due to the imposed curfew. (The TV listing was probably posted prior to the current issues popping up)
  24. Read that last month or so --- one of the better reads on the Dead and the 60' San Fransisco scene in general.
