Best Show Fake Band Names

I scammed them for awhile like that too, but it's so easy to illegally download music these days sometimes it's not even worth mucking with e-music. --Mike

Wow, good eye. That's quite close to exactly what I want.

Tremendous player, one of my favorite Wilcos. Would take the Bach/Jorgensen five piece lineup from 2002-2004 over anything before or since.

Greetings fine citizens of Via Chicago, I am currently working on a music collage project and I would like to hear your opinions/suggestions of the greatest usage of the phrase "what do you want" in music history. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated, thanks for your help. --Mike

I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is great. I loaned my friend Sunken Treasure four years ago, and never bothered to get it back. I fell asleep the only time I watched Shake It Off and I didn't even bother with Ashes of American Flags. --Mike

1. Which of these 3 records do you look forward to most? Either Radiohead or Wilco. I'll probably be more excited for the new Wilco, because I have more of a history with the band, and care about them more than Radiohead. Having said that, Radiohead's last album dwarfed the best of SBS and WTA combined in my opinion. 2. Which do you expect to be the best? Radiohead. 3. Can REM eek out one last great record after a string of so-so ones? Hmm... is Bill Berry still available. --Mike

I was at the St. Thomas-St. John's game last week with about 16,000 other people trying to cram into a stadium that seemed about half that size. I live like two blocks away from the University of St. Thomas campus in St. Paul, MN so I go to their home games if they aren't playing at the same time as WVU. --Mike

Does this mean Sister Ray will be the new anthem of the Tea Party?

Love Badfinger as well, but I got what you meant.

Bummer. Loved him on the Comedy Central roasts.

The production on this one is still pitch perfect, however.

Songwriting trumps any sound direction for me, if the songs are compelling enough at this point they have the lineup to pull off almost any direction they want to go in. I haven't really loved the last two albums in the way I liked the earlier stuff, but Califone has done a great job of scratching my YHF-AGIB itches. --Mike

One of my all-time favs. Benigni always leaves me smiling my ass off everytime I see it. --Mike

"I'm Still Here" is "just a movie... a performance"
mpolak21 replied to PopTodd's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Eh... I sat through it last week. Even if the concept of them trying to pimp it as a documentary when it isn't doesn't bother you, the film, itself, is pretty much a clusterfuck. Unsurprisingly I never felt like Affleck mind up his mind whether he was trying to pretend that all of the events that are happening are real or pretend that they are faked, so the narrative falls flat.I won't even start on how unlikable Phoenix is. I felt like the best part of it was the Letterman interview from two years ago that most people have already seen anyway. After seeing the movie, this is pretty -
This thread seems to work pretty well: http://forums.viachi...or-vcers-music/. I find the balance of promotion/criticism of said promotion to be pretty balanced around here. Outside of the central depository thread as I am concerned people are allowed to plug albums or gigs outside of that thread within reason (i.e. within an additional thread or two primarily focused on that band), but be wary not everyone is going to be enthusiastic about it. As long as the criticism doesn't get particularly personal or harmful I don't think we have any business stepping in to censor it, and as long we aren'

Now I'll have another image to go to when hearing that song besides Bill Murray smashing his alarm clock radio. --Mike

I am perfectly fine with Gold Soundz being number one, though if I had to pick one song of Pavement's to put there at gun point I could just as easily see myself going with Summer Babe or Range Life. --Mike

Wow, that was really cool. Looks like they put out one CD in 1994 which is currently going for 98.48 new on Amazon. --Mike

No that sounds about right. There are a few isolated killer songs #9 Dream, Nobody Told Me, Watching The Wheels, Stand By Me, but the rest of it I could give or take, I'd even put most of Mind Games and almost all of Sometime in New York City in with that group as well. --Mike

Recently saw the Simpsons episode with the My Dinner With Andre videogame, inspired a re-watching...
