I apologize if this is repeated, but I haven't seen it discussed thus far. Although many have pointed out flaws in the movie- I can't get over Marion Cotillard's performance-phenomenal...and I loved the soundtrack. I LOVE this film...anyone else?

As for the demos....I haven't listened to all of them, and there are only a few tracks, but I know that I'm not the only person around here who must have EVERYTHING of certain bands (ahem). Amen! I was dozing off to sleep watching ER and heard the first few notes and shot straight up...although far from ubiquitous, these pleasant surprises are (thankfully) becoming more frequent. YAY!

My issue doesn't lie SO much with the corporate satanism that is this company, but the bastarization of the art of coffee. There are many serious, legitimate coffee chains in Seattle that have imported the Italian coffee tradition and more earnestly spawned the "latte" hysteria. 90.3 KEXP in Seattle occasionally plays Wilco (thought not enough..). It is really an incredible station- really interesting shows, etc. They've turned me on to LOADS of new music. Check it out...

I just recently discovered this doc myself, and really like it. It's worth the price of admission just for When the Roses Bloom Again. It always kills me how Jeff delivers this incredibly heart-wrenching song and is so nonchalant about it afterwards! I am incorporating clips of it in my lessons on the Dust Bowl Era and Steinbeck, etc.
