  1. Good question. I always associated with it as a Prius-type vehicle, but after a 2-second google search landed this: 2004 Pontiac Aztek. The Pontiac Aztek was Walter White's car. It has a faded factory paint job and is missing the factory alloy wheel on the drivers' rear corner, replaced with a far less attractive steel replacement wheel. This vehicle is notorious for being an under-achieving ‘crossover’ model, being neither a decent minivan, nor an SUV, and is also well-known for having an ugly, plastic appearance.
  2. Cool pic of Dylan accepting his Nobel Peace Prize in Stockholm (in a pulled up hoodie) without a media presence:
  3. "So What" - Miles Davis "Uptight"- Stevie Wonder
  4. 50 is the new young! I'm hip to "lit," though.
  5. You wanna know why? I had to google "throwing shade." THAT'S why. Actually, I was just responding to tinnitus' post(s) regarding our NY/Sonic Youth chat and he referenced Dylan and I agreed. It certainly wasn't meant as "a subtle, sneering expression of contempt for or disgust with someone" (Meriam-Webster, word added February 2017).
  6. According to reports I've read, he's still welcome to participate in principals' meetings. Not sure what the "removal" actually means, if true.
  7. Ah. Well, live (and I've seen SY in smaller venues/clubs) SY didn't translate too well in a bigger venue and NY seemed to be "schooling" them, in a sense, with his work with Crazy Horse. Just my take, but that's how it came across.
  8. Did you go to any of the shows on that tour?
  9. I was kinda joking with NY due to his nasally/weird voice (that I actually do like) as he is a kick-ass guitarist (I saw Sonic Youth open for him a bunch of years ago and his distortion/dissonant/"Punk" guitar work blew their's away). But yeah with Bob Dylan....
  10. I always thought of Neil Young as more of a vocalist than a "musician".
  11. Yeah, it is. Picks up quite a bit and a familiar character or 2 (from Breaking Bad) emerges. Odenkirk is fantastic.
  12. Almost done watching (re-watching) Season 2 of Better Call Saul as my wife and I prep for the forthcoming Season 3. I watched a bunch of Season 2 last year but a lot of the content was missed or lost on me for various reasons. Did the actor who plays "Mike" ever win any awards for this series?
  13. A friend of mine was trying to ditch 2 for Wed (his son's tix??). I considered, but students again tomorrow...
  14. Dude died on my (an Atticus's) birthday a couple years ago. The nerve.
  15. I've seen a bunch of live streams popping up on fb groups I belong to, lately....Obviously different than being there, but not a bad option.
  16. Yeah, she's really something. She's got a whole album of GD material, and is also a big Phish fan and covers them equally well.
  17. Who were you asking? Chuck Barris is dead, jerkface.
  18. Around and Around and Promised Land, two staples of the GD catalog, of course. Here's a cool poster of when Chuck Berry opened for the GD in Portland in the last stages of the GD in '95:
  19. A staple of my youth. Gene Gene the Dancing Machine passed a few years ago, as well.
  20. I'd prefer it stuffed with lobster tails, or if that's not possible, with a jerk rub or a teriyaki marinade.
  21. Listened to a show last night (Rosemont 4.13.88, mostly because I wanted to re-visit the Sugar Mags, Bertha 2nd set opener) and when we got to the 3rd tune of 1st set, here comes "Franklin's". Great tune, of course, man did this one sound off: too fast and too slow at the same time, if that's even possible. When the first notes struck, my wife was getting on one of those stationary bikes and commented something like" "Great, a peddling song!" It was some awkward peddling, to say the least.
  22. Pretty savvy for them to kill off both the elderly AND the poor. Business-wise, at least.
