  1. Yeah, they did 42 into beats at the Kaiser in '85 for Mickey's birthday: https://archive.org/details/gd85-09-11.sbd.barbella.11494.sbeok.shnf This is a goofy intro/flub from '70. Really good show, too (even a "Frozen Logger")! https://archive.org/details/gd1970-12-26.sbd.unknown.14124.sbefail.shnf
  2. A good pal I grew up with in CT (and a 'head) who turned 50 (I know, young to some, "old" to others) the other was thanking all the people who wished him a happy birthday on FB and said something I found really cool: "Thanks for all the thoughtful birthday wishes. Old age is a privilege denied to many. My birthday wish this year is for all of my friends on FB and IRL to learn something new, and have a little fun each day."
  3. No doubt. And, touting his own Apprentice ratings. There is no time nor place that is not an opportune time for him to blow himself in front of a group of people.
  4. That song from the movie Footloose: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrqrpMFxMo8 Because nobody can keep the kids from dancing.
  5. Really fantastic show! I wasn't there, but love the smokin' opening Help-->Slip->Frank (20= minute Franklin's?!) opener, the "Music" is rocking as hell, and the "Sugaree" is smoooooooth. Did you go to others on this spring tour (one of their best ever)??
  6. KISS Calling Dr. Love Shock Me Shout it Out Loud Rock and Roll All Night (C'mon, it's their ANTHEM) Do You Love Me?
  7. Everything is always about him and self-aggrandizing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqz2fl9aJSM
  8. New Pure Jerry (Milwaukee '91) show coming out in March: http://jerrygarcia.shop.musictoday.com/Product.aspx?cp=640_83755&pc=JYCD63
  9. Saw them open for REM in VA on the Green tour....
  10. I take care of frisking my wife when we couch tour. Glow stick fights aren't the same, either.
  11. The Mexico thing (along with The Dead/SCI thing, Warren's Jamaica thing, etc.) are all-inclusive, high-end resorts, though. I'd definitely do one if the time and budget allowed. Jam Cruise, too, would be a hoot. I doubt a lot of people will be doing all 13 shows, too. Kind of gives a bunch of people to catch a show or 3 throughout the 2-3 week period. It's summertime and NYC is one of the busiest tourist places (THE busiest?) in the U.S. Makes a lot of sense, regardless if it bums people out from distant states.
  12. Exactly. My school is about 98% Hispanic. Fortunately, the Mayor as well as the Superintendent have both made public statements in reference to the safety of citizens/students regardless of any threat from the White House, which helps allay fears a little bit.
  13. Right. As much as I like going to shows, as I age I become more and more "ok" with watching the shows live from my house/back porch, too.
  14. Older boys are 13, 14, and 16. They aren't fans of the new administration but relatively distant to it all, too.
  15. I try to avoid discussion about politics with my 4th grade students when possible (except to tow a neutral line) but my 4th grade child at home had a lot of questions and observations from the march and from the media. My older boys don't seem to care too much one way or the other. t
  16. I can understand, as they are all in their 50s now, wanting to set up shop in one plave for an extended run rather than take on the grind of a full tour yet again.
  17. Yeah, it's been the rumor for a "residency" there (love the "Baker's Dozen" tag). Hope they still do Dick's....
  18. Glad to see my school district, as well as city, take a stand against Trump's purported immigration "laws". I notice a lot of city mayors are taking similar stances. Nice to see the unity in defying preposterous and racially-motivated directives from the Former Reality TV Star Guy. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/politics/denver-public-schools-education-organizations-publicly-oppose-trumps-immigration-orders http://denver.cbslocal.com/2017/01/26/trumps-immigration-actions-trigger-backlash-in-colorado/
  19. Creed Apollo's Song Raised by Lazareth in a Small Town Jonah and the Big, Scary Fish Goddamn the Devil The Smooth Arc of Noah
  20. Reminds me of Vince Welnick doing similar (knife to throat) in his wife's presence (though Welnick had battled depression for quite awhile).
  21. I love lobster. What a crummy thing for Trucks to do in front of his wife.
