  1. Same here. No interruptions. Mine's a burn from the discs. $250? Geez-us.
  2. I'm going for THIS: http://www.glidemagazine.com/179695/jerry-garcias-legendary-wolf-guitar-auctioned-benefit-southern-poverty-law-center/
  3. I assumed they had already branched out of the area here. Good beer.
  4. Carrot Carrot Top doing all press reporting with prop comedy would be just as apt, too.
  5. I hear ya, but then I think the assumption from Shug's post (at least what I took from it) was that Garcia didn't solo as well on tunes where he had lead vocals. Then I think of tunes like Deal, Franklin's, Scarlet, etc. where the soloing , typically, shredded just as hard or harder than when on songs without his key vocals. Then there's JGB material, with (besides the instrumental tunes played heavily in the 70s) Garcia has lead vocals on all of the tunes and the guitar playing, imo, overall does not lack. I don't make the distinction between how well his overall playing was on non-lead
  6. ^ Ha! Been to a ton of shows (and Nighthawks games!) at NH Coliseum under similar circumstances. The circular ramp to/from the parking garage was cool but the outdoor escalator always made me nervous.
  7. Cool! Caught an "Attics" and more than a 6-song first set, at least.... The only on-stage I've had (all-access, actually) was at Red Rocks when Wilco opened up for Sheryl Crowe in ;97 or so. I did get a back-stage pass at Boston Garden in '93 and got to (briefly) meet Owsley. My little brother was at BC then and we met up at the show. We were talking about this over the weekend via text and he sent me a pic of the pass (he ended up with it and it looks nothing like I remember it looking that night).
  8. I saw them at Foxboro in spring of '88. Snuck in the back-stage area amongst some cleaning/garbage crew and spent the show in a hallway side-stage. I had to kind of face towards the wall whenever security-types walked by as I had no lammy/pass. I remember high-fiving Gillmore as he walked up the ramp past me during half-time, though.
  9. I was pretty sure it was Flea but Will Farrell on the kit sealed it for me. Cool pic, though.
  10. And states that are already below the national standards will slip further down the hole. So, again, it works well when/where there is adequate finances to support education, and fails where there isn't.
  11. She wasn't so much confirmed as she was given a receipt for her purchase.
  12. yep. Plus, I love LLR (not so much the first 2/3 of the tune, but the final 1/3).
  13. Jesus f'ing Christ this is repugnant and potentially fatal for the public education system: http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/07/politics/betsy-devos-senate-vote/index.html
  14. This whole deal gets weirder by the day and the ridiculousness of it all is becoming standard, which is the scariest part. http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/07/politics/kfile-gorka-on-fake-news/index.html
  15. I always had the Viet Nam thing connected to it, as well.
  16. It was played fairly regularly from '83 to around late '87/early '88?, to my memory. I like the imagery in it and the odd tempo/drums in it, too. Cool slide work in it, as well.
  17. Pretty neat piece on HST and his widow's plan to open up Owl Farm to the public: http://www.denverpost.com/2017/02/05/hunter-s-thompson-legacy-owl-farm-colorado/
  18. I was recently revisiting this kick-ass '83 show from Providence. I love the second set, in particular the Esau, Maybe You Know, Bertha punch out of the gate. https://archive.org/details/gd1983-04-20.aud.wise.92322.sbeok.flac16/gd1983-04-20d1t01.flac
  19. Ditto. Good lord that was amazing. The Dave Roberts steal in Game 4 randomly pops into my head at times.
  20. Although not a big Pats fan (though a lot of my family is) it (slightly) had me remembering the 2004 ALCS.
