Elton John & Kiki Dee - "Don't go Breakin' My Heart" Seriously
-
1st time I saw Wilco in '03, I really didn't know anyone besides Jeff & John. Glenn blew me away! I probably watch him more than anyone. Actually spend the least time watching Jeff.

It was. I'll never watch it again, though, just because I couldn't handle the hardcore scene w/ the broken glass and staple gun.

I remember when Tin Machine 2 came out Musician magazine did a cover story raving about it. I liked the 1st album, I still like much of it. 2 sucked crap. I don't know what they were thinking about Musician magazine. Let's remember, people, that the Sales Bros. rhythm section also gave us "Lust for Life", and for that alone, they belong in the rock and roll hall of fame.

Gimme Fiction was my intro and my favorite. My Mathematical Mind is great.

Now I remember why I was an independent all those years.

Yep, it can be tough. I guess that's why God invented smilies! -

This was, at worst, a poor attempt of tongue-in-cheek humor. I actually thought it was a somewhat humorous way to make an extremely important point. We are so dependent upon government programs for the elderly (medicare, social security) that when our biggest generation lives on and on, it's going to bankrupt us. It's not the fault of the baby boom generation, and Ikol never said, nor implied, that they should die early. He just explained what's going to happen when they live into their 70s, 80s, and 90s. I see nothing offensive in his post. I hope it's just not because I agree with his -
Loved these guys when I was a kid. A friend went to see them in '79 in Des Moines. A very random memory: We just commemorated the 30th anniversary of Pope John Paul II's visit here. I looked it up, because the timing seemed very close. KISS was here 2 days after the Pope.

Ummm... Someone needs to bean A-Rod before this series is over. I'll sleep better.

My brother and his wife went as Kurt and Courtney several years ago. Hilarious.

Woot!! I don't expect the Twins will do too much against the Yankees, but I'm enjoying the moment!
-
I'm excited for this one.

My kids are 4. Each age has its own joys and struggles! Enjoy!

Ha! A friend sent me a link to the Conservapedia site today. I think there are a handful of valid points going on here. But I think it's hilarious that a group who by and large believes the Bible is the glorified and unchanging word of God want to revise it to square with their views. They may make some valid points, but even bringing up this discussion discredits a Fundamentalist view of the Bible. -
Tell me how to spend my Borders gift card
uncool2pillow replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
borders.com might be a better destination for music. Most stores have severely cut their inventory of music. Jazz fan? Wanna be a jazz fan? I'd start with the Miles Davis Quintet CDs from Prestige. Workin', Smokin', Relaxin', and Cookin'. -
Is he still managing in Japan?

Yes, the Twins or Tigers are destined to lose in the 1st round, but this has been a great week of baseball. GO TWINKIES!!

Nice stuff there. Who knew Ukraine had a show called "Ukraine's Got Talent"?

Apparently, the location of the Wilco loft is a poorly kept secret, but taboo to bring up here. You'd definitely want to see the Riviera, site of last year's residency and the Vic, where Kicking Television was recorded.

Good for Rio.

I read a Williams biography 2 or 3 years ago. This doesn't surprise me. His son is a tool and so is the owner of that cryogenics lab.

Letterman may well be a philanderer, the evidence now seems very strong. I am glad that he went after the dude trying to extort him the way he did. Vibes to his wife, son, and the rest of his family.
