  1. She is a surprisingly deft guitar player, too. I love the prickly stuff she does on "Surgeon"

Wilco "Capitol City" Seems legit ..... (what is the emoticon for sarcasm ? )
  4. It sure does. I have the brown/yellow version.
  5. This is an under-rated record, IMHO. NP:
  6. I think Martin used Braz into the 1960s. Mando Bros has one. It is such a shame that they destroyed that rainforest.
  7. I kinda miss the days of JT's prickly, dissonant wanks.
  8. Hahahahaha. Too funny. To address the INTENT of the OP, I would say... 1. AGiB 2. YHF 3. ST 4. BT 5. SBS 6. AM 7. W(TA)
  9. I didn't know what forum this belonged in, but I know there are DFW fans (and possibly Decembrist fans) here at VC. new video for "Calamity Song," from The King Is Dead
  10. I is my first stab at it. The intro, break and outro are based on the two basic riffs with lots of ringing open top strings. He seems to throw in some slight variations, tho (prolly something like this : 578---). BTW, Anyone have the definitive lyrics for this one? Couldn't find it. As always, tabbing out stuff is not my strong-suit. Corrections are always welcome. Just thought I'd get the ball rolling. I Might - JT (solo acoustic) Tuning: Drop D (or Open D) Riff 1 Riff 2 G G6 E G G6 Bb6 e|--------------|..|---------------| b|--------------|..|---------------| g|------------
  11. That is the pedestrian crossing over the train tracks at a beach called "T-Street" which is about a 1/4 mile +/- south of the pier in San Clemente. One of the best (of not The Best) beaches in Southern California. Good sand, good waves, good parking, not touristy, snack shack, bathrooms, ... everything is just right.
  12. It has been years (decades? - man, I am getting old!) since I went to Carlsbad. I usually go to T-Street in San Clemente. This is the town I grew up in and so I have become accustomed to this particular stretch of sand and surf. I highly recommend going. It is such a zen experience. a few hours hearing the waves and feeling the cool breeze will sustain a soul for many weeks. Here is a photo of my favorite beach I took a week or two ago.
  13. That is nice. Looks like Open D. Nice to see the J-45 again. Love that guitar.
  14. I had the goal to go to the beach at least once a week this summer. Last year, I felt I did not take sufficient advantage of my proximity to the beautiful Pacific Ocean. So far, so good. Went twice this last week. As for a highlight (so far), I had a whirlwind weekend late July: Comic-Con on Thursday, Comic-Con on Friday and Avett Brothers show on Saturday. Other than that, happy to still be employed (albeit under-employed).
  15. I just bought this record (I know, I know ... late to the party - as usual). After one spin I have to say I really love it.
  16. Are your referring to the little descending bass runs? They are (kinda) explained here: Summerteeth - Wilco Intro . . . . E . . . C#m . . . F# . . . | . A . [E] Like a cloud his [G#]fingers explode on the [A]typewriter ribbon the [F#]shadow grows [E] His heart's in a [C#m]bowl behind the [F#]bank [F#] [A] [E]And every evening when [G#]he gets home [A]To make his supper and [F#]eat it alone [E] His black shirt [b]cries while his shoes get [F#m]cold [Faug] [A/E] It just a [F#m6/D#] dream he keeps Here’ one way to play the descending lick (with F#m Faug A/E F#m6/D#) | F#m | Faug | A/E | F#m6/
  17. I am not much of an electric guy, but seeing the blue SG makes me want to get it just to play the solo on ALTWYS!
  18. What about Jolly Banker and I Shall Be Released? These were released in the same timeframe as WTA.
