i dunno about the rest of y'all, but the feedback is part of the reason i love using mine live. Several of my band's songs involve feedback intros, outros, noise, etc. and my 335 is wonderful for that. also, you can sing/scream into the holes and get some crazy stuff. BUT... if you dont like feedback, i don't think is all that hard to control. if you have some skills using pedals, you shouldn't have too many problems. just dont leave your overdrive on whil palm muting, or foolish things like that. all in all, i think the incredible tone and playability of the 335 outweighs whatever ti

suggestion... do you remember the "Spider" shirt? it was red and featured a spider walking over musical notes. under the musical notes were the letters W-I-L-C-O of course. try to find a picture. it might be my favorite Wilco graphic. either that one or "attack with love"

i recently bought a gibson satin finish ES 335 reissue. Fantastic guitar... the best tone i have ever heard out of any guitar, period. A bit pricey though. Around $1800. But so worth it... If you want to go Fender (I'm a gibson guy myself, but own a few fenders and think theyre pretty damn good), go with a tele. very versatile, very playable. if you slap a bigsby on it, it wont let you down.

i dont know if ANYONE cares... but some of my original playing has been compared to Neil, and i think i've gotten some pretty Wilco-y tones too... I play a variety of guitars through a Vox AD100VT (tube amp-ers may scoff, but it serves me well). Here's some of my babies: in the Gibson Corner: a 90s era Les Paul classic 1960s reissue, a Songwriter Deluxe Cutaway Ac/Elec, and a Satin-Finish ES-335 reissue in the Fender corner: a 90s era Mexican made Standard Strat, a very young Mexican made stanard tele not pictured: (electrics-) Schecter Ultra III, Neptune electric 12-String, and

i have one, and i have to say that its a great pedal. the signal loss is negligible if you know what youre doing, and it adds so much to the texture and feel of the guitar tone that it makes up for whatever shortcomings it may (or may not) have. plus, when you turn it all the way up, it sounds fuckin scary (esp. with some overdrive and heavy delay before it). Check out the Plate setting. it's my fav.

this is really hard to describe, but i'll say it anyway... that moment in Shake It Off after the main rockin riff when Jeff slides up to that note and everything cools down. The moment is highlighted in the DVD... anyone know what i mean?

pretty much any part of Poor Places. I dont know what it is that gets me, it isnt like theres anything jaw-dropping going on. But the melody is so gorgeous and his vocals are so... pensive? yeahhh

SBS Preorders: Put your MusicToday bitching here!
Reflectedinthemoon replied to lost highway's topic in Just A Fan
i think it seriously is just random. i live in maryland, and got my preorder (without express shipping) on MONDAY. crazy, eh? Sorry to all of you who have had bad experiences... -
i put in my two cents after the review... i dunno if people agree or not. i dont think i said anything groundbreaking, but just gave my honest feelings of the album (which i received today in the mail [god bless WilcoWorld preorders!]) go here to read it. mine's the long one (MagicSam).

i bought tickets even before Wilco's announced involvement, but im 200% more stoked now! I have become a loyal ACL attendee since first attending in 2005. I intend to go every year, and this year seems absolutely fantastic. I think you absolutely can't beat ACL in terms of price, services, good will, and of course MUSIC! Austin is a incredible city, and i always enjoy my stay there. See you there!

no one's talked about High Fidelity yet? i'm surprised... "The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don't wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules." start with that, if you ask me. ITMWLY would be good as an opener in my opinion.

Cars Cant Escape, Panthers. Does anyone have an mp3 of the former? I'd love to have it... (ysi?) -
Hey there. does anyone have mp3s of Wilco's october 2006 show in Latrobe, PA? I went to that show and it was incredible, now i want to relive it! I'm especially eager to hear "Sunken Treasure" from that night. I know theres a whole torrent section of this site, but it wont work on my computer. So if anyone could do a yousendit file, that would be fantastic. Thanks so much!
