Do not adjust your television sets...

I can't wait to start playing with the vote up or down button! Watch out!!! and I think it looks schmancy. -
I just introduced a friend of mine to Wilco's music and we watched I Am Trying To Break Your Heart tonight and I just got home to see this news. very very sad news.

onto this. am starting a book group here in DC and this was the first pick out of the hat. i gave up on Omnivore's Dilemma. He lost me when he started debating to be or not to be a vegetarian after hundreds of pages about the necessity of proper natural omnivore eating.

Been to Moscow or St. Petersburg? Tell me about it!
isadorah replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
my exboyfriend went several years ago (something like 8 years ago) and got detained in St. Petersburg for 18 hours for taking photographs of buildings. (he's a professional photographer). that's all i've got. -
must be the bamboo. Pandas have the digestive system of a carnivore yet they insist on only eating that pesky bamboo. it can really change the whole flavor of things.

the best moment on the Idol finale last night (ok besides the jaw dropping realization that that really was Queen up there on that stage and Fergi getting censored). An all time high of campiness. Just look at Randy's face when he realizes she's had some work done!!! What's New

I don't think I have ever seen Jeff doing "Sunken Treasure" without someone botching it up. Singing along is great if it is loud and there's lots of energy. If it is GA, then I think it is even more fine because people can move; if it is seated, then you're stuck next to the person. If you're down front in a GA show and think it is better to carry on conversations than see the show, that is far more annoying than singing along. Just go to the back of the venue have your conversation and don't bother the people that are there for the show. If it is quiet and no one else is doing it, definite

Eligible for a new phone from Verizon
isadorah replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I went through all sorts of annoyingness trying to get the Dare to work with the Bluetooth in the car. according to the MINI Cooper people it is LG not playing nice and the problem is not Verizon. Verizon updated the software on my phone to help fix the bluetooth problems and it actually worked, except for the addressbook not transferring. I had a Motorolla prior to the Dare and it worked beautifully with the MINI. I also found out during the whole escapade that Trios don't like to cooperate with anything and are worse than LGs when it comes to their bluetooth technology. I would not believe a -
Eligible for a new phone from Verizon
isadorah replied to Mrs. Peel's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I have an LG Dare and absolutely love it. I have heard good things about the new KRAVE by motorolla; it is a meld of a flip phone and a touch screen phone. i think it gives you the best of both worlds, the traditional phone shape from the flip, but a touch screen that gets you a supposedly intuitive full keyboard. The camera and calendar are supposed to be lacking in it. With my Dare, I am able to do pretty much everything an iPhone can do, except be cool and get apps from the app store. Plus it has video capabilities and the highest quality megapixel wise camera available in a phone. It wil -
should we just get it over with and have threads up for each song? wait, was that snarky?

so i'm completely torn. when sky blue sky came out, i did the whole preorder thing from the website only to find out a few weeks later that there was a cd w/a dvd that couldn't be had by purchasing the vinyl only to find out after that buying from a record store got you the cd with bonus songs. i now own 2 versions of sky blue sky because i wanted the dvd and the bonus cd and the vinyl. part of me really wants to preorder from wilco world, but part of me is waiting for a repeat of the sky blue sky oh and by the way thing to happen. *sigh* also, i am guessing someone is a fan of Wait, Wait do

why do new threads keep popping up that could all easily fit under the 1 album spoilers thread?

it's funny because you can't really find any hard firm details on any of this, except the criminal record. ah well. i'll concede i might be wrong about the extent of his rehab experience, although it does stick in me that he didn't spend the amount of time there that he said he did, who knows. i still stand behind my climbed the backs statement because what he did was wrong and dishonest and counter to the needed honesty for over coming addiction. i think he took advantage of other people's misery. all my cynical and extremely closed minded biased opinion of course. i'm sure i am in the minor

I'm pretty sure he didn't go through a rehab program. The dentist scene was fiction; the relationship with the girl complete fiction; and I'm pretty sure the relationship with Leonard was fiction as well. Maybe I skewed in my mind how much of the book was a lie, but for some reason I vaguely remember the biggest hubub of it was that he never suffered from addiction or went through rehab. He went there to do some research for a fiction book; then when the book was completed he and the publisher decided to bill the book as a memoir because that genre of fiction wasn't selling and the memoir mark

just go the album today and listening now. much better than Modern Times. I'm diggin' it. We'll see what happens when it is played on non-crappy computer speakers.
-
I gave the album a break yesterday. Listened some this morning. I find it to be quietly intense.
-
ah, he's taking a break to tour. that makes sense now.

That's not a very nice thing to say. but wait, we already knew we were a bunch of highy messed up freaks. ViaChicago: the board of highy messed up freaks and some real wackos. It's like one big dysfunctional family. !!! Yay!

i donated, but didn't think to put it in honor of wilco. i also donated to the woody guthrie foundation (more than the $2) and did note the wilco connection on that one. i will also, of course, be purchasing the vinyl from an independent record store on June 30.

i'm going to miss being able to flex my debating skills now.

or you could set up a poll and have an option be a write in vote.
