Josh Ritter announced the follow up to "The Animal Years" (my favorite and possibly the best album of 2006), in a fan club email: Josh Announces His New Album!

last wilco show there, almost exactly two years ago, i had terrace seats and they seemed incredibly far away. i couldn't see pat on the right side of stage at all except when he would pop out to windmill. also it gets kinda quiet up there since i believe they have noise restrictions, so loud people are easy to hear and get annoying. the only other time i've been to the greek was for the white stripes in 2003, and i was in section b row d, and i remember liking those seats much better.

i bought the santa barbara tickets and had my friend get the la tickets and he got section b row b, absolutely nothing special and pretty mediocre/bad seats for a presale. but at least i got good santa barbara seats and saved a bunch of money over ticketmaster tickets.

Just saw this from wilcoworld, the great Richard Swift is apparently supporting Wilco on all the August dates. For those who don't know him, he's an amazing, unique musician and songwriter that sounds kinda near Van Dyke Parks/Harry Nilsson/Beatles/Randy Newman/Ray Davies, and sometimes melancholy and lo-fi. He's got three albums, two are available as a 2xcd set (The Novelist / Walking Without Effort), which is an unbelievable deal as both are fantastic little albums. His newest, Dressed Up for the Letdown just came out this February, and is one of the best albums of the year in my opinion. I

great idea!! i'll start! 19/none/12/student/3/brown/Jackie Brown and yes i do think this is wilco selling out, unless jeff needs the money to buy a personal submarine. or even a big submarine for the whole band to enjoy.

from a sociological standpoint, it would be interesting for everyone to state their age/income/shoe size/occupation/# of years of being into wilco/hair color/least favorite tarantino movie, and whether or not they think this is wilco selling out. this will not only provide an interesting sociology survey, but it will allow posters to make fun of other poster's jobs, shoe size, etc. while calling them selfish assholes. also i would like beltmann to state whether or not he/she is a professor.

cat power sold unreleased cover songs to cingular and that one diamond company, and then she went and became a sort of spokesperson for chanel. i was mad until i saw her live for the fourth time and she told the audience that she was saving up to buy a personal submarine. i thought that was adorable and that's when i realized that 'selling out' is okay if you just want to buy a personal submarine. maybe there will be an email from WILCO HQ regarding the reasons for the commercials, but i have a hunch jeff just wants a submarine. edit: i'm serious about selling out being okay for a personal s
