Diane Coffee - Everybody's a Good Dog

Yeah, about the same age for me too. They were some of my earliest guitar influences. My first band in grade 9 used to cover Breakin' the Law, and later as we got more proficient we added You've Got Another Thing Comin' to the mix.

There was a time when these two were right at the top of my favorite bands list. Judas Priest Before the Dawn Hell Bent for Leather You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ Living After Midnight Heading Out to the Highway The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown) [bonus cover song] Iron Maiden Run to the Hills The Trooper Rime of the Ancient Mariner The Number of the Beast 2 Minutes to Midnight

Record Bin: How Wilco shed their Americana past on "Being There"
GtrPlyr replied to SeanPhipps's topic in Just A Fan
Seems like a typical "click-bait" headline that a lot of sites employ these days. It was their first good record, but not their best as far as songwriting, arranging and unique vision goes, at least in my books. -
Yep, that one is good. Not sure why it isn't working for you. Maybe you could try uploading the picture to a different photo hosting site such as http://imgur.com/ and see if that makes a difference.

What format is the photo in (i.e. jpg, png, gif)? Just wondering if maybe the pic is in a format not allowed on this board.
-
Being There was the first one.

It's been fun watching the tight race that's going on in the AL East. As a Jay's fan, hoping they can can clinch the division instead of going for the wild card slot. The 7 games against the Yankees next month are going to be nerve wracking for sure.

Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time

There was a good Lightfoot interview on television the other night. He talked a bit about Dylan and Kristofferson among other things. -
Another Detroit venue is The Fillmore. Saw The Replacement play there back in May, pretty decent venue. And if you guys are going to Detroit, I highly recommend paying a visit to the Motown Museum/Hitsville U.S.A. It's pretty cool walking into the old studio, which pretty much looks like it did back in the '60s.

Written by Tim's guitarist. His first hand insight gives this a more genuine feel than a biography from a stranger. Interesting read so far.

I've only listened to it once, and it's a lot to take in at over 90 minutes. I think it will take a few more listens to know where I sit with this one. It is definitely ambitious and there's some interesting songs and production here. It's worth checking out for sure.
-
Yeah, I'm all about the music episodes too. Was listening to the Jason Isbell one yesterday. Trying to slowly catch up on the ones I've missed.

Though I usually cherry pick the episodes I listen to, I've listened to a few with people I only have a passing knowledge of, or interest in, and have almost always been pulled into the conversation. I wish he knew a bit more about the people he interviews at times, as some guests you can tell he only has a cursory knowledge of, but considering the diverse number of guests he's had on, this is an understandable problem. I do enjoy his loose, personal style, it seems to help guests open up, and give better interviews than they would on most other shows.

^^^ That one is in my top 10 of the year so far. NP: Listening to an episode with Todd Snider at the moment.

That should be pretty damn cool. I wish there'd been a good music festival on while I was there.
-
Me too. The Orser character just teeters on the edge right from the start, like a train wreck you can't turn away from. Speaking of "cult" themed films, ever see Martha Marcy May Marlene or Sound of My Voice? Recommended if you haven't.

It's region 1, put out by First Run Features. p.s. thanks for the heads up on "Faults." Watched that last night, good story and cast, was quite impressed.

I have that on DVD, but haven't seen it yet. Thanks for the reminder, going to watch that this week if I can.
