  1. anyone have one? I made the purchase after trying it for free for a few days... projects wonderfully, great even tone, sounds great plugged-in, and I haven't even had it set up yet! It's my new workhorse, though my Gretsch Rancher Jumbo still comes 'round from time to time.
  2. Honda Element with aux input for iPod. It is a godsend. Used to use cassette adapter in my CR-V, and the sound was more than acceptable, but a bit distorted and poor representation of the extreme highs and lows... direct input is the way to go. I used an iTrip this weekend in another car, and it was like listening with cotton (or Brillo) in your ears.
  3. I've got a couple of early '50s Nationals (a 6-string and an 8-string... LOOOOOVE the 8-string), and a late '30s Gretsch... try to get an older one if you can (you'll find the odd bargain on eBay), and have a wonderful time discovering all of the magic and mojo that lies in that little bitty instrument!
  4. Hey Jasmine, welcome back! Can a Wilca reunion album be far behind...? -mart ps - your son is positively adorable
  5. Fantastic, Kyle! Fresh and exciting, like a Kool and the Gang song!
  6. All the best to you padres out there... enjoy the day (a hot one here in NYC)!
  7. I'll second this recommendation, I've a 6120 of recent vintage, and it's very, very well put-together. Took a spell to get used to the full hollowbody, but it's tone is so sweet and distinctive... good luck and happy hunting! Guitar shopping, problematic as it may be sometimes, is ALWAYS a pleasant problem.
  8. You better hope he recovers... The Boss needs his harmonies!
  9. All the best to you, Rosie... have an absolutely fantastic birthday. Can't believe that in just one year you can legally ... -mart
  10. fucking WORD. ...and it's a long, long thread, don't know if anyone put Outlandos d'Amour Regatta de Blanc Zenyatta Mondatta Ghost in the Machine Synchronicity but I'll take that 5 in a row, especially if it's your entire career.
  11. Been doing freelance for the past 7 years, and for 12 years before that at my family's old print shop. Mostly DVD packaging and large-output stuff, but it pays the bills.
  12. oh dear lord I just listened to the official New 7 Wonders theme song (it's at the site)... why in God's Name do they feel the need to attach songs to things such as this??? "...Hands Across America..."
  13. Anyone vote yet in this? http://www.new7wonders.com Not sure why I find it a bit fascinating... maybe it's because I didn't get around to voting for the original 7 Wonders a few years back. Go Easter Island Statues!

  15. Sure it does. Get it used, my man.
  16. I highly recommend by Mark Lewisohn A day-by-day log of exactly what the Beatles recorded. It's more of a reference, but is a fascinating read because of the immense detail. Example:
  17. don't worry, I don't either... thanks sweetie!
  18. Loving the song choices... hope they mix it up a bit just so that come August in NYC, one doesn't know the setlist by heart going in.
  19. Gotta go with Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk, personally...
