  1. I consider myself a fan....and couldn't get all the way through. Hmmm. Gonna have to revisit this one later.
  2. I'm with Vacant. I'm really enjoying it so far. It's really hard to tell where it stands for me yet, but I keep wanting to listen, so that's a good thing. I actually like that there are more acoustic songs on this one. As far as the break from DBT, though, Go Go Boots hasn't left my rotation. That's going to be a top 5 for me in 2011 no doubt.
  3. On that note...enjoy the "Sell out off" that happened on The Colbert Report the other night. Hilarious. Colbert
  4. Holy crap. I had no idea he released an album this year. Last years was high on my top 10. Wow.....thanks.
  5. That one sounds interesting...thanks Spawn's....
  6. Not feeling this one Cortez? Like others....I wish this hadn't leaked this early...but I can't stop listening.
  7. I tend to like the mellower side of DBT, so I'm loving it. A couple Patterson songs that don't go anywhere, and not the strongest Cooley record, but a nice companion to The Big To Do. Mercy Buckets and Used To Be A Cop are some of my favorite DBT songs from the last few for sure....
  8. IMHO Season 1>4>2>5>>>>>>>3 But, overall, I did like this season. Now, for a question to discuss.... SPOILER ALERT . . . . . . . . . . . . . Does Deb know anything? That line at the party "You must be relieved..." makes me wonder.
  9. Yeah, it kind of bugs me too...but we wouldn't get nearly the amount of rarities on tour that we get these days without it...so it's bittersweet, I guess.
  10. Got it...thanks Greg. Fingers crossed for some of those events......
  11. Agreed...read all of those things over the years too. But, there is always the odd troll who throws a wrench in things. Was your original post from BTX?
  12. While I would love everything in this post to come true....it's this line that makes me wonder if the (original) poster isn't making it up.... Bruce just basically confirmed on the latest Sirius interview that he'd never play the Prove It All Night 78 into again. Doesn't sound to me like someone who would revisit old concerts.....that and Landau has hinted that the next project could be another Seeger Sessions band. But, man, I'd kill for small venues.
  13. If you get the box...take a look/listen at the Paramount 2009 DVD. Just the original E St. Band playing Darkness. Charlie in for Danny, obviously. Lean, and mean. Intense and fabulous. I would love if he would tour with that stripped down band.
  14. Another tidbit of video from the box. This is freaking amazing. Like they planned a music video back in 1978 for this song released in 2010. Or, some crazy great CGI work. The Promise. Pitchfork.
  15. And, how good would "The Promise" be if you added "The Iceman" and "Don't Look Back?"
  16. The two disk outtakes set leaked today. And, I have to admit, I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. It really holds together as a record. Even the new overdubs make perfect sense....except Patti Scialfa's background vocals. This makes it easier to forgive "Working on a Dream." Let's hope he continues to mine the vaults.
  17. As much as I'd love LA (I have tix for two shows), there is still that one more NY show. MSG. My money's on that one.
  18. Great new Baseball Project song with vocals and lyrics by Craig Finn of The Hold Steady....if you're a baseball fan, you'll love it.... http://minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/columns/music_blog/archive/2010/09/dont_call_them.shtml
  19. Not my favorite comedian, but I'm often reminded of this exact bit whenever I go to concerts. I'm "that guy." Sucks getting old. On the bright side, saw THS four times the week before last...and I didn't care what people thought of me!
  20. Liking this album way more than I expected.....The full band stuff (especially "Repo Man") is really fabulous.....
  21. This album is blowing my mind. Freaking love it.
  22. It's out there. And it's good. After one listen, of course..... Edit: Duh. Didn't see the comments in the July listening thread. Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this is amazing on first listen.....
  23. Happy to see him playing some new stuff...but it's the same old other stuff. I'd give him more credit if he'd go deeper into some of the classic records, instead of playing basically the same set every night. Enjoying the sound of the new record, but unless someone as good as DBT or MMJ ends up opening here in LA, I'm gonna pass.
  24. This is slowly becoming one of my favorites of 2010.
