  1. I know. I felt bad making what sounded like a dig on Deadheads. I really didn't mean it that way. But ya gotta admit there's a stereotypical image of a kind of good natured, spaced out Grateful Dead fan. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
  2. They actually covered this on the Today show this morning and they mentioned that it was at a concert, but they didn't mention Wilco. And you're right that it sounds like a stereotypical Deadhead move. Not even necessarily that poorly intentioned, but not realizing the uselessness of the gesture of returning credit cards and drivers license, all of which would surely have been replaced immediately. Definitely an amusing story.
  3. A more deserving pair of people could not be found. Hoping for good luck for you both!
  4. 50/50 chance, I'd say. If I had to guess, I'd say no.
  5. What is glaringly obvious from this list is that nobody knows what category to put Wilco in! Also I think there was another Grammy win for something like best packaging or cover, and I believe it was for A Ghost Is Born.
  6. Omg, I'm thrilled for you and the other fans who got to witness this firsthand but am absolutely kicking myself for not making the trip. I hope your wish comes true. ROAD CASE!!
  7. Oops. Yes, the more reticent version--just touching, no tasting.
  8. And most of Touch the Ceiling, after the credits. Yes, a really nice piece.
  9. I enjoyed Girlpool as well. I said at the time that they reminded me of some kind of mash-up of Liz Phair and Indigo Girls, but that's not a very apt comparison. I didn't have high expectations for them, but I liked their set more than I thought I would. I loved getting to spend some time with you guys too, and also I'm happy to report that the numerous people I dragged along to the show (co-workers, friends and family, mostly all Wilco virgins) were universally impressed with the band and absolutely loved the show. They still think I'm crazy, but at least they can see what it is I'm so enth
  10. Oh, so that was you, Trey! Sorry we didn't connect on the ticket, but I assume you had no problems. Also, I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet personally. We did the early entry thing at FM restaurant, which turned out to not be a good idea for all kinds of reasons. Anyway. . . yes, the more I think back on this show, the more the positives seem to outweigh the negatives. I was truly pissed off at the crowd and what felt like disrespect for the band, but on the other hand, it gave Jeff an opportunity to show off his sweet side as well as his righteous integrity. Several times he asked t
  11. The poster sold out. I'm hoping some show up on the online store, or if anyone on here has a lead on an extra, please let me know. I definitely want this!
  12. I wasn't making an effort to keep the setlist tonight, but I got a picture of it afterwards and I think this is right. Star Wars payed in its entirety Handshake Drugs Camera I Am Trying to Break Your Heart > Art of Almost Hummingbird Box Full of Letters Heavy Metal Drummer I'm the Man Who Loves You Dawned on Me Impossible Germany Red Eyed and Blue > I Got You Outtasite (Outtamind) ____________ Spiders (full on rock version) _____________ (Acoustic/Hootenanny encore) Misunderstood Always in Love Shot in the Arm [On the printed setlist but not played] It's Just That Simple War on War J
  13. Well, today is Mardi Gras. I wonder if there'll be some kind of a nod to that? If so, any guesses?
  14. Thank you, thank you, Dave. It's so good to get your take on the show. I'm glad it was a memorable night for you.
  15. I bought several tickets for friends who for various reasons can't make it. I've found homes for some but I still have 2 extras. These are hard copy tickets and I'd like to get what I paid for them--$42. Ordinarily I would expect to be able to sell them outside the theater, but we're having dinner in the attached restaurant so we get early entry, which means I won't be able to stand on the street hawking tickets. However, I will be easy to find at the FM restaurant from 5:00-6:00, or if you're planning to get there later, just text me and I should be able to come to the front door to meet y
  16. I am really hoping they keep Space Oddity in the set for the show in Norfolk this Tuesday. There's no way to request it on Wilcoworld, of course, so I've been requesting Wishful Thinking and adding a written appeal for this. Having these great video captures, though, does take a little of the sting out of maybe not getting to hear it live.
  17. I agree about the talkers and Jeff's obvious annoyance. Was it during Magnetized when he kind of threw up his hands in a WTF gesture? I think so. I was right on the rail so there weren't many talkers up there, but you could hear a loud din of back-of-the-house chatter throughout William Tyler's set and even during Star Wars. It seemed to dissipate after SW, but still, how obnoxious! Almost as bad is the overenthusiastic, tone deaf, LOUD singer during the quiet acoustic set. A guy behind me was singing very loudly to Misunderstood and Shot in the Arm, to the point where Jeff glared over in
  18. Really good show tonight. No big surprises on the setlist, but there was an overall fun energy in the crowd. Well, for the most part, anyway. There were a couple of scuffles, one just to my right. I couldn't tell exactly what happened, but I think it was a couple of aggressive guys trying to barrel their way through to the stage, and my neighbors to the right were having none of it. I didn't see Bbop tonight, so I kept up with the setlist and believe this is correct, although my annotations are not detailed like Paul's. (If you want the details of who is on what instrument, etc., refer to Pa
  19. I also did airbnb for about $50/night. If finances are not an issue, City Suites is definitely your best bet. Since it's literally right around the corner, you can easily go over to your room to recharge your batteries, etc.
