  1. This is on IFC right now. About halfway through, though. Sorry for the late info.
  2. I hope Amazon.com has their shit together and I don't have to wait too long after June 10 to get this. I was hoping the whole point of "pre-order" would be to make sure I got it the day of release. But, whatever. It sucks not having a decent record store in this town.
  3. Holy crap! I had that EXACT book she is holding when I was a kid. Extreme wave of nostalgia.........
  4. That is a great point. Never really thought about this song in that way until now. A few lines always got me, but as for the song as a whole, this one was more about the melody and the instrumentation than the lyrics for me.
  5. It's funny how you realize how amazingly beautiful and cathartic music is sometimes. A little turn of phrase, a mellow guitar tone, a heartfelt vocal. Sometimes it just hits you. Lost My Driving Wheel.....Cowboy Junkies Something's Always Wrong....Toad The Wet Sprocket
  6. I will never be able to listen to Last Goodbye again.
  7. Wow, excellent choices as well. I hadn't even thought of the Crowes or the Mermaid Avenue albums. Seeing Things......Black Crowes
  8. Due to recent events in my life, beyond my control, I have been listening to alot of sad, but beautiful songs. What are some of your favorite, heartbreakin' songs? Here are some of mine that are really helping me right now...... Most Of The Time......................................Bob Dylan (these lyrics describe EXACTLY how I feel) Not Dark Yet.............................................Bob Dylan N.M.A. ....................................................Eef Barzelay End Of Love..............................................Clem Snide In State...............................................
  9. I also used to have on cassette from a radio show, him doing a cover of ABBA's "Knowing Me, Knowing You" with Don Kerr from the Rheostatics. It was beautiful. I have long since lost the tape.
  10. "Other Songs" still ranks as one of my all-time favorite Canadian albums, but I have not been too pumped about his last couple of albums. I also played "Cobblestone Runway" to death when it first came out. Looking forward to checking this out. And, I have to say I really enjoy him in concert. I have seen him twice and he just seems like such a genuine, bashful guy.
  11. I would definitely stay in the helicopter as it went down, just so no one would be able to see that I crapped my pants out of fear.
  12. Spelling is your friend too. I am assuming you meant sing???
  13. It is now $1.30/liter here, or about $4.91/gallon for American folk. Unreal.
  14. A recommendation from Louie B, which I am thorougly enjoying. Thank you, Mr. B.
  15. Yes, A-man rocks! He is most helpful with torrents and what not. Kudos to you, good sir.
  16. One of the dudes at work was listening to "Crazy Train" on his computer in the office today. Son of a bitch do I hate Ozzy's vocals in that song, and that entire song in general!
  17. Minimalist Americana from Centro-matic's Will Johnson. I am really starting to dig this record. A perfect mellow way to start the weekend.
  18. It sucks that this does not work for Canadians anymore. I used to check it out a fair bit, and now I can't anymore.
  19. Watched this again, as it had been a long time. Still love this film. William H. Macy is brilliant in it, I think.
  20. "Place To Be" by Nick Drake
