  1. Jeff sounded great playing a couple of encore songs with Scott McCaughey at The Fillmore last December. If indeed his solo shows incorporate a back-up band, I'm hoping Scott McCaughey is playing second fiddle.
  2. Thanks for the info ! Now I'll have to try finding that demo ...
  3. That was a really great radio show... looking forward to next weeks'. Hey, Lou ... what is the name of the song that played right before 'The TB is Whipping Me' ? .. some lyrics mentioned something about satellites and Christmas trees and smoking things.
  4. Califone - Chicago The Eels - Chicago Jeff Tweedy - Detroit Elvis Costello (solo) - Copernicus Center, Chicago ( walk to show ) Beck / Sun Kil Moon- Pitchfork
  5. Beep! Loved the Portlandia episode... this reminded me that the Detroit show is too close not to attend. I missed the pre-sale but just cleared my schedule. Maybe I'll wind up in the balcony and that'll be alright. But I'll look for extra tics posted here.
  6. Thanks for all the updates. I've got the Bahama Knights episode cued up and ready to record. This ought to be great!!
  7. great job, some really fantastic photos. Thanks for sharing..
  8. Is anybody familiar with the Cass Corridor area of Detroit, near the Masonic Temple venue? I'm hoping to get info on nearby good lodging ...
  9. Really looking forward to seeing this. The Royal Tenenbaums ranks up there as one of my all-time favorites. Grand Budapest Hotel looks like it might be as good..
  10. Hey Winston, nice post ! Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
  11. Hey Donna, I'm in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago. The streets have nearly thawed out. Thoughts of a Southern Californian summer sound really good right about now .
  12. That sounded great. Wish that video went on for another 2 hours...
  13. Nice to hear that gardening is an option out there in some locales, and here soon, too.. My backyard is thawing out and it was nice to fire up the grill again today for the first time after such a cold Winter, kinda like a victory lap.
  14. Hey, Moss. That rendition of Friend of the Devil was fantastic! only thing missing was a campfire..
  15. Scott mentioned this 5 LP release when he opened for Jeff at the Fillmore in December. I'm looking forward to hearing it, too. The Baseball Project "3rd" on sale next week, March 25.
  16. Wanted to see the Giving Tree show in Feb., but the roads were really bad. Tried to find an easy way out there on Metra, what would you recommend?
  17. Big shows, For starters, gotta join that crowd at Arlington Park Racetrack for the Guiness Fleadh. What a line up! Shane, Richard Thompson, X , Wilco and John Lee Hooker. We kinda laughed at first because in that heat John Lee Hooker was dresses like a Proper bluesman. When he sat down on that stool to play, he owned the place. Next, Bill Graham Tribute Concert '91. Polo Grounds, San Francisco. This day started out with Robin Williams comedy. Sets by Santana, John Fogerty playing CCR backed by the Grateful Dead, CSN and Y, and the Grateful Dead. ( and many others ..) Highlights of Lall
  18. Wonderful news, Jules. Should we all bring shovels? Would yours say, "Bad Motherfucker"?
  19. That show was the first time I'd seen Dr. Dog. They were great, too.
  20. Great poster. I have it framed and matted hanging on a living room wall. Nice show, one of the first at Millennium Park that featured the latticed network of overhead speakers that span the entire lawn area. Refrigerator magnets of the same were handed out at entry. Been a while, but I'm pretty sure I bought my ticket from Nalafej. He must've upgraded to the pavilion. Or something.. Wilco needs to play this venue again ! Great depiction of a Wilco-ized Millennium Park blur.
  21. I loved that show. And listening to it, too. While I may have wasted $80 on song request sea-salt chocolate bars, they were delicious. My seemingly myriad run of 12 Wilco/JT shows in 12 months ending last month was fantastic, and with the bonus Solid Sound Sunday, too. Can't wait to do it all over again! Soon please ..
  22. This is great news, Thanks!
  23. As mentioned, really cool to see J. Tillman sitting in with Beck. Hope Father John Misty is on board for the Beck tour.
  24. Beck was great. Thanks for the link confirming that it actually was Father John Misty in the backround, I wasn't sure. Beck/Father John would be a great double billing for upcoming shows. Soo far, just have Pitchfork on the radar in July.
