  1. Well, it IS a guitar - but merely a sample. Mellotrons were the prototype sampler. John wasn't actually playing all those notes on a keyboard, he was merely pressing one key, which triggered the flamenco sample.
  2. I always wondered about that bit. I love all the new stuff I'm learning in this thread.
  3. Tinnitus - did you ever see the Cows in their heyday? (90s?) Minneapolis noise band, for lack of a better term.
  4. ha - I know exactly which one you're talking about, and you spelled it perfectly. That's my favorite one!
  5. I'm assuming the ex-cop who shot the guy in a Florida movie theater, for texting, is one of those "non-criminals" or "NRA members" that doesn't commit "gun crimes." After all, he was only standing his ground, having had popcorn thrown at him.
  6. I've been watching the Anthology Series (slowly but surely) the past few months - I've been watching a chapter every 2-3 weeks. I'm in the middle of chapter 3, and even though i know the story very well, I find myself cheering for them to find success, and it's very exciting for me to see them react to the screaming girls for the first few times, especially when they go to America for the first time.
  7. Ah. As a song itself, I agree, but as far as his playing goes, it blows me away.
  8. It's right around 2:57 or so. There's disagreement whether it's Paul or John. First a "Woah!" then a "fucking hell" a couple seconds later. One engineer says it's John - that the headphones he's wearing came on too loud, causing the "woah!" then the "fucking hell" a moment later. John said it was Paul, after playing a bad note on the piano. John's version can't be possible, because Paul doesn't hit bad notes!
  9. I still want to know why the Spanish Version of Led Zeppelin II, as pictured at the top of this thread, has sides one and two mixed up. How can it start with Heartbreaker? (Rompecorazones).
  10. Truly. Machine Gun is evidence enough to refute that he peaked before that. I posit that Machine Gun might be the peak.
  11. I do too. I love anytime they cross reference a song. "You've all heard ob-la-di-bla-da.." or all the stuff going on in Glass Onion... I also love all the Paul is Dead stuff.
  12. My wife's favorite is George. I asked her what her favorite George song was. She answered "Little Darling!" I knew what song she meant right away.
  13. I think most of my favorite memories of growing up in Minnesota revolve around playtime in Winter: Skating, sledding, hockey... I don't think I would ever want to live in a place that doesn't have cold winters.
