I've loved "Being There" since the first time I heard it 20 years ago. I hadn't sat down and listened to it from start to finish in a long time till I got the remastered set. I'd forgotten how great it is and why it's my favorite Wilco album. It's aged very well, too!

Awesome. Continued best wishes to a fellow baseball fan, a talented musician and a nice guy.

I haven't heard anything, but I sure would love a new album by the Decemberists. And hopefully a tour of the South beyond Atlanta, Nashville and Houston.

Very happy Sister Rosetta Tharpe was elected.

Just saw "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri." I haven't seen many movies this year, but it's by far my favorite.

Saw "Lady Bird" last night. Excellent movie. I've always enjoyed Greta Gerwig's movies. Her directorial debut is one of my favorites this year.

Dang. Wish they'd come with the pre-orders from the band.

Fruit Bats as a band were a 2017 discovery for me. Saw them in concert in the spring and really like their 2016 album.

Happy belated Thanksgiving, all. I kinda avoided the interwebs yesterday because it was my family's first Thanksgiving without my dad. I wasn't sure how I'd handle it. It was tough, but there are always things for which to be thankful. I'm thankful for all the wonderful memories of my dad, family and friends, my health, and great music.

I’m very sad to learn this news. I met Scott a few years ago at a Baseball Project in-store performance. Super-nice guy. I’ll definitely be sending thoughts, prayers and good vibes his way.

Streaming on Netflix - "Chasing Trane," a good documentary about John Coltrane.

Got my copy in the mail today:

Has anyone taken the plunge and bought the deluxe reissue of AFTP? R.E.M.'s my favorite band ever, but I'm on the fence about spending $75-$80 for a reissue. I don't care much for the demos, and I don't know if I'll ever have the technology to be able to listen to the album in Dolby Atmos.

That CoS list loses a lot of legitimacy by ranking Accelerate ahead of Fables of the Reconstruction and listing Lifes Rich Pageant as only their 8th best.

I think it's recorded on that link. At least it was for me.
