  1. Holy sh*t. I haven't heard that in years. There are actually some good tracks on that!
  2. I just want to say that while I miss all of my vinyl, I miss my Wilco vinyl. My wife and I just moved across the country about two months ago and most of our belongings are still in storage, including my LPs. I should have them back next month...maybe. But I've got a copy of Mermaid Avenue I haven't even listened to yet because I bought it right before we moved...
  3. I'm a little upset that Neko joins the tour TWO DAYS after MMJ hits KC.
  4. I was gonna say Heartbreaker for sure. A lot of the live stuff is pretty chaotic & somewhat sloppy too. Live versions of "Since I've Been Loving You," one of my fave Zep tunes, have a lot of messy guitar work going on.
  5. My first CDs and mix tapes were formed from my older brothers' collection. Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Zeppelin, Nirvana -- basically a blend of the early 1990s alt-rock scene and classic rock, which technically really came from our father's collection. By the time I was a teenager and started playing guitar, our tastes splintered off in a lot of directions. Now? My middle brother sticks to the old faithfuls, despite going through two major phases where all he cared about was (1) gangsta rap and (2) house music. For him, I'd say his two mainstays are classic rock and one-hit wonders of the 80s an
  6. Many of the tracks listed in that compilation are just song fragments or flat-out jokes. The Being There-era Wilco would occasionally throw in a snippet of "Drown" before scrapping it for something else...
  7. There are a few tracks that have popped up in some of Jeff Tweedy's solo performances, "Born Alone" and " ." Recordings of the former have popped up; look for the threads on some of the Tweedy gigs.
  8. I actually think the vocal take of "Ashes" from the Ashes DVD is one of the best versions.
  9. I've yet to attend a Wilco concert where I felt like it wasn't rocking.
  10. Was feeling very nostalgic during my lunch break. It's sunny out today (where I am) and I thought I'd roll down the windows in the car and indulge...
  11. I'm going to echo everyone else's sentiments and express that I'm glad a person who brought forth so much evil, death and destruction in the world is gone -- but -- I'm also say that I agree with this statement too, and I'm wondering what kind of violence we'll see in the wake of this event.
  12. To reflect my mood today? AGIB + Being There, minus Sesame Street "Outtasite."
  13. Who knows...maybe the Solid Sound single won't actually end up on the record. I'm gonna get my hands on it, but I don't know if I'll listen to it right away. If the new record is streamed, I don't know if I'll preview it either...
  14. What if the single isn't actually on the album? Would that change things?
  15. Really enjoy "Circuital." Turned off "Black Metal" after about 90 seconds. Listened to The Tennessee Fire. Will try "Black Metal" again when it's part of the whole record.
  16. Featuring a whole slew of great artists, except for Kid Rock. Rave On Buddy Holly tracklist: 01 The Black Keys: "Dearest" 02 Fiona Apple and Jon Brion: "Every Day" 03 Paul McCartney: "It's So Easy" 04 Florence and the Machine: "Not Fade Away" 05 Cee-Lo: "(You're So Square) Baby, I Don't Care" 06 Karen Elson: "Crying, Waiting, Hoping" 07 Julian Casablancas: "Rave On" 08 Jenny O.: "I'm Gonna Love You Too" 09 Justin Townes Earle: "Maybe Baby" 10 She & Him: "Oh Boy" 11 Nick Lowe: "Changing All Those Changes" 12 Patti Smith: "Words of Love" 13 My Morning Jacket: "True Love Ways" 14 Modest Mo
  17. Buena Vista Social Club. And my local record store owner just tipped me off to Los Peyotes, who do a smokin' version of ? and the Mysterians' "96 Tears" -- "96 Lagrimas."
  18. How about A Ghost is Born Alone? Love it. Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Lawry's Seasoned Salt.
  19. Sky Blue Sky is probably the best album, like, ever, dude.
